Some of it, yeah. Not all. Don’t get me wrong I’m one of the biggest MGS nerds in here probably, it’s just me seeing certain horrible/annoying trends in gaming appear, disappear, reappear over decades of experience in this industry.
I sometimes get heated over the most retarded shit nowadays with what I know could have been addressed early on in
games (or even fixed, or made more believable) because of the tech and know-how that I’m aware the industry has.
(like opening doors with your fucking FACE in Watch_Dogs) -_-
Or like the fact that this is MGS FIVE and the AI still doesn’t react to certain things that you would think they would under the
technology they’re being built with and programmed with.
Like prancing around on a horse, leaned over to one side in front of a random soldier that’s on guard to kill your ass.
Were I to have programmed the enemy AI responses/routines, it would have been more along the lines of:
-Can see you and will react to you immediately within 50 meters.
-Will react to you being a jackass, on a horse, leaned over to one side, right in front of him.
-Might have a speech pattern of: “Hey asshole, I can see you—WTF do you think you’re doing!?”
Stupid fluff=something that’s stupid, is retarded to see on screen, shouldn’t be in the game.
Like slinking over to one side of a horse whilst riding it it within eyesight of the poorly programmed eyesight distances given to enemy AI,
and watching them do nothing about it. It’s lame.
Stop playing on Normal if you don’t like the guards being dumb.
The games always had it like this: Anything not Extreme/European Extreme = Guards are brain dead and you can get away with everything. On Extreme/EE The guards will spot and hear you from across the map.
I’m not sure how many of you know about the MGS4 novelization, but yea, it was published two years ago. I just bought the Kindle version for $7.69. You can read it with the free kindle app on your PC, tablet, or device.
I scoped it out some time ago when I visited a Barnes & Nobles. It’s a very detailed book that narrates the plotline and happenings of MGS4. It’s accredited by Kojima so there’s that.
so happy you can build, modify and visit MB. finally we get to experience the other side of alert mode. I’m always excited for a new MG but this is on another level. hail kojima
No idea they did a novelization of MGS4
I know they did one of MGS1, but I heard it sucked. Not sure if they did one of MGS2 and 3 or how good they are if they did get made.
