He’s done it before. Maybe this time he’ll douse himself with gasoline first.
One thing to note is that in MGR, in the one and only discussion they had on Solid/Old Snake, Raiden was really non-committal when it came to his survival. Like he doesn’t say he’s dead or he isn’t and MGR takes place 3 years after MGS4. On top of that Sunny never really mentioned anything herself (not that she’d have any reason to).
So the door is left open narrative wise at least. Whether Kojima has any way to make it make sense for him to live, that’s up to him.
They flat out said he was dead during MGR.

Well I dont think thats a “flat out” confirmation to be fair.
Maybe Snake just popped off the grid awaiting death and there was no way to find him during the events of MGR.
Either way, if they want Snake back he will be back. Big Boss’ remains were preserved for decades, an active brain and pumping lungs.
We still have a gap of time that we dont have a modern MGS game for which is before the Shadow Moses incident at the Zanzibar uprising when Grey Fox had his accident. That would be your late 80s-early 90s timeline. They could reintroduce all the old characters from the NES games. And of course we would still have Solid Snake.
Nanomachines are OP as fuck post MGS4, its totally reasonable that Old Snake could receive an injection to rebuild his aged body to his former peak levels, i mean common they had a cyborg with a floating head, post MGS4 they could pull any reason out their ass to keep ole Pliskin around, shit maybe even make him go on and fulfill his gene sires destiny, to rule the world muwhaha

Well you gotta remember that foxdie would still go berserk again if he lived a lot longer.
Foxdie was something I felt was a bit of a gimmick after MGS, it was originally meant to kill selected targets by DNA tags via nanomachines, went berserk cause of Snakes rapid aging, Drebins new Foxdie was the same thing other and the trick was, would mutate again and thus making ole Dave wanna top himself at the conclusion of MGS4.
So if he has his body returned to his prime wouldnt that stabilize his foxdie? Couldnt it be maintained plot device style like far cry2? Couldnt they eventually cure it?
Loads of possibilities, just dont think it would be a stretch to keep snake around. They rebuilt Big Boss from spare parts, turned Raiden into a full fledged OP cyborg, turn a mortal man via a nanite heart pump into a god tier antagonist, in this universe they can do pretty much whatever they want.
Snake was going to off himself because his fight was over. He no longer had a reason to live until Big Boss came and they had their chat.
Nae it was more than that, besides if that was the case he would have tried to do it after MG2. People forget Solid is all about wrestling eskimos and dog sled races n shit.
At the end of MG2 he wasn’t about to die in a few months.
At the end of 4 he had only a couple of months left to live and wanted to end it on his own terms. Obviously he didn’t go through with it and ended up speaking with BB who told him to live the rest of his days watching the world they helped create.
I didn’t know Paramedic was so uuhm big in the plot.
At the end of MGS1 he didnt know how much time he had left tho, Naomi basically told him the same thing that BB did in MGS4, that just live out the rest of your days, nobody ever gave him a timeline he just kept on trucking, what i was talking about before was basically nanomachines could theorically sort out all his problems and his would be suicide was just a way to stop mutation, nothing about his fight being over.

It was. Only reason he didn’t was because he found out that the second mutation in his body would hold off fox die, and his regular aging would kill him before foxdie would go berserk.
Kojima needs to reboot the franchise, start with a clean slate. Maybe hire some hollywood screenwriters to plan the plot properly lol.

Hopefully Kojima stops after TPP and starts doing other games while a team just continues the story after 4 or something.
