SOOO SEXY
Looks like meter management will be huge in this game
Hmm, the question is do you go Marvel on it in this game and spam meter moves to death in the hopes of getting it back, or do we do it like SF, we take our time, get our hitconfirms and then burn the meter only when needed…
Decisions…decisions.
Game is too beautiful for words though. And for all the tech demo lovers out there, there you go. You can cut watermelons…now shut up.
Finished the original Metal Gear in two days, now onto MG2: Solid Snake
Gameplay for Revengeance looks bad ass so far
Play them in release order.
What do you think about this game as it is, SWBum?
Cutting system seems easy enough… multiple precision cuts are hard, but there is no reason to do those…
Left stick moves to the part of the body you want…
Right stick changes angle, and when you want the cut, just let the right stick go…
If you want to make random rapid cuts, just flick the right stick…
Trash.
I can see people getting tired of having to go into that cutting mode all the time. That’s the only thing they’re pushing in terms of gameplay. Don’t even get me started on the story setting/placing in the MGS timeline.
Nah. The Metal Gear Solid 4 Database does a fine job of explaining the story and the characters, factions, etc.
I don’t get why people say that the MG story is confusing. It isn’t.
Well they do give you multiple weapons and guns on some Ninja Gaiden shit…
But, yeah they haven’t advocated those features… but you gotta make the dumb masses happy first before you start getting into the real details…
My friend wanted the game just because you could cut people into pieces… didn’t give not one damn about the other stuff…
Whatever get PT that cash…
Hope they make this like a new Bayonetta just to spite you nigga…
It only lacks confusion if you have the information near by to look over.
Though honestly, by MGS4, you only need one word to explain the entire story of the MGS series. Nanomachines.
Not the entire series. Just MGS4. We all know some big changes to the storyline were made during the development of 4 to move away from the supernatural aspects of the series, for whatever reason. I guess they felt nanomachines was the only thing that could explain phenomena that were originally supposed to be of supernatural origins.
Not quite a retcon, but in the same neighborhood.
The NES game was an awful port (terrible controls, wonky hit detection, etc.), and Solid Snake was putrid, made no goddamn sense, and wasn’t even made by the original team (nor is it canon).
Yeah, each successive MGS iteration got a little longer in the tooth, and it did come to be an issue for some understandibly.
Cel-shaded Yoji Shinkawa visuals would be insane (like ZOE2, but much less subtle).

Fixed
honestly - i am REALLY looking forward to this. i luv hack and slash games like ninja gaiden, devil may cry and bayonetta. even tho it is nowhere near as fast paced nor anything close to a metal gear game ever released. it will be interesting to play thru.
Incorrect. Play the games, pay attention, think, and it’s very follow-able.
For those who want a story that doesn’t challenge you to think deeper, sticks to tried-and-true storytelling, and spoons feeds them every relevant detail, then MGS is going to seem confusing.
Yeah, this proves my point. If you take in what most people are willing to take in from a story: the directly given data, that is the type of summation you’d get.
That’s why there are so many explain-it-to-the-audience moments in audio/visual storytelling.
It’s a shame, but it is what it is.
MGS sucks after SOL
cant wait to cut niggas up in this game
Im glad there is someone else out there that agrees that mgs2 was one of the highest points in the series, but mgs3 was still pretty damn good.
My hope is that there is still a huge emphasis on stealth, otherwise there will likely be nothing gameplay-wise to make it interesting. Raiden is/was a scout and tracker, so he should play like one. Nobody should stand a chance against him CQB, but he should be shot down in a big hurry.
A big “no” to the former, but a definite “yes” to the latter.
