Hell, I’m pretty sure I’ve replayed the tutorial countless times just to slice them watermelons up. Cutting watermelons never felt so easy and satisfying especially that giant ass watermelon that drops down out of nowhere once you slice the melons in the final room. That must be the tutorial boss.

Also if you climb up to the top of the walls you can find a cardboard box and equip it.

During the story mode I thought if I cut the pillars I could surprise attack the Gekkou walking on the bridge. Turns out it just drops down with no damage and it’ll keep walking around in a circle confused about where to go.

After numerous play sessions, I can share some stuff you may not have gathered from playthroughs:

  • Ninja Run + (Y) has a large hitbox and will soft-launch multiple dudes. You can activate Free Blade from here and slice up multiple guys at once.
  • While usually you can’t Free Slice a fully healthy mook, certain moves allow you to Free Slice them at will. Moves like the sliding kick above.
  • Parrying needs you to hold forward and press X as they attack, the stance isn’t long, though. In many cases it will reset the positions of you and the enemy.
  • Ninja Run + (X) will deflect bullets. And make you feel like the God of Badasses.
  • Yes, you can Free Slice incoming RPG rounds. Look for audio and laser sight cues. It feels great.
  • You can stealth kill Gekko.
  • The AR vision won’t reveal every thing on the map. Explore to find some extra grenades and RPG rounds.

Move List (Made Up Names):

Standard Combo: X,X,X,X…
Strong Combo: Y,Y,Y,Y (Ends in lightnings legs)
Sliding Kick: Ninja Run + Y
Don’t Give a Fuck: Ninja Run + X,X,X,X…
Dive Kick: Jump + Y

Helm Breaker: Jump + X,X,X… > Y, Y
Back Step Slice: X+A
Advancing Slice: Forward X+A
Dodge Slice: Right, Left X+A (or Left, Right) (Completely invincible)
Talk to the Hand: Away, Forward X (Free Blade cancelable)
Knee Slice: Away, Forward Y
Launcher: Forward, Forward X
Stinger: Forward, Forward Y (Very good)
Break Dance: 360 Motion, Y (wider hitbox than you think)

I’m gonna try to demo on ps3. I experienced a bit of lag when I was incessantly cutting up a watermelon into small pieces durign zantatsu mode. Along with other items, I don’t know if I’ll experience the same thing on ps3.

Nevertheless this game is like crack, played it like 5 times. I haven’t been this hype on a game in a while, especially one that’s not a fighter. What the fuck is Guilty Gear and Blazblue nigga? They don’t have cyborg ninjas >_>

The game feels like a fighting game (the depth and strict timing on blocking/parrying and etc), ninja gaiden (not your typical evasive hack and slasher, requires blocking and etc), and a Metal Gear (the necessity and stealth and secrecy, I haven’t personally played MGS but I watched my friend beat them all). A ninja game where you ACTUALLY have to act like a ninja by using stealth?! GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE :open_mouth:
