Metal Gear Rising thread. Releasing in Early 2013 for PS3 & 360

I hope P* has a good engine for next gen, because I think atleast for a couple of years people would be okay with 60fps graphics that look like just a slight upgrade from this gen, before the big boys really optimize what the consoles can do at 30fps and start releasing screenshots. I can’t believe so many people said MGR had bad graphics just from screenshots and grainy youtubes, because it’s like “60fps, YOU SPEAK IT?”

So I’m guessing you ended that friendship.

4 frames? Who gives a shit about 4 frames lol!

You play fighting games don’t you? You should be able to answer your own question… I’ll give this demo a run on my PS3 and see what it’s like though… in general I have a tendency to pick up on things like this without even trying to pay it any mind…

The lack of screen tearing might make it a more playable game, never know… I’ll see…

Well unless there are 1-frame links in this game I don’t see how that is a problem…

For the Bladewolf boss did any of you guys notice if the background music changed like how it did in the trailer with the Ray boss fight?

Yeah it changes. Last stage of Blade Wolf has lyrics.

what i like the best about P* is this. there are two schools of thought, one is to make games that appeal to a demographic so you are always thinking about them in your development, and the other is to make a game YOU genuinely think is a good game. P* falls in the they make a game they want to make and think is good category, also see From Software and the Souls series. there are some companies (not a lot) that are able to bridge this gap (and this imo is quite difficult to do), namely Rockstar and to some extent naughty dog.

essentially what makes companies like P*, From, Grasshopper, so successful is authenticity.

Has there been some sort of detailed analysis on the move animation system in this game or the demo? It’s pretty obvious that it doesn’t rely on canned strings or distinct commands for animations and there’s a fair bit of “automation”, but is there some info on how the game chooses what attack Raiden does?

I’m sure this is old news but Sunny’s supposedly gonna make an appearance as a “secret” character in this game according to Famitsu/a TGS 2012 Pamplet.

I would assume that she’s probably going to make a cameo in a flashback when Raiden’s fighting to suppress his Jack the Ripper persona.

What do you mean?

The first attack he does when hitting Square? There’s 3 up close, mid range, far range. There might be 4, another midrange, can’t test right now. He also has the upclose facing away stab. Those are the only attacks I remember seeing that I can’t perform manually.

;_; Wish I could just get into a hyperbolic time chamber, sleep for 10 mins and wake up and MGR be out

I haven’t really been observing what exactly raiden does when you just go up to something and press buttons, because slidedatsu and stingerdatsu are so much better, and bladewolf runs away after a couple of hits. Are those the only situations where Raiden changes from the default mash string?

What and where do I have to Pre-Order to get that Lamp… and the Soundtrack?

As far as I can tell from the demo.

Just hack off arms or legs on the last of the 3 guys from the fight off the beach and check it out yourself.

It’s the LE so whoever is selling the LE? GS preorder gives Gray Fox skin and an art book so you might be interested in getting your LE from there.

The GS preorder also gives you the Fox Blade, but IDK if that changes anything :l It’s a katanasword though, like a traditional one. Not a High Frequency blade.

From what I read it makes the cores pop out of enemies in one hit.

WORTH MY MONEY, THEN

The lyrics not kicking in until the final part of the LQ-84 fight made it ten times more epic imo.
