From what I’ve found so far in the demo

Directional Commands

f,f+Square = launcher
f,f+Triangle = Stinger
b,f+Square = Palm
b,f+Triangle = Tripping
360+Triangle = Breakdancing Flares
Square+X = Dodge slash

Then you have Ninja Run + Square for running slashes and Ninja Run + Triangle for a slide, press triangle after slide for follow up

Grounded Combos
Square x N = Nonstop Slashes
Square delay Square = slash into a launching slash (auto jump followup), doesn’t matter how many square you hit before it

Triangle is a bit different than Square

Triangle x4 = series of attacks that’ll end in a flurry of kicks (keep mashing triangle to do more stabs at the end)
Triangle Square Triangle
Triangle delay Square Triangle
Triangle Triangle Square Triangle
Triangle Triangle Triangle Square Triangle

You’ll go into your typical square slashes if you keep pressing square after triangle (so no Triangle Square Square), square slashes don’t have triangle enders, they’ll just go into the triangle strings

In air
Square x5
Triangle x2
–You can do something like Triangle Square x4 Triangle or Square x4 Triangle x2 but you can’t Square Triangle Square …
any direction+Triangle = Right the Lightning dive kick

When Raiden has his back turned to an enemy, Square will automatically do backturned attacks. If he’s far away, he’ll do like a roll into stab. Reminds me of Easy Automatic in Bayonetta a little.

You can definitely get through and feel like a badass just pushing buttons and slashing shit but there’s some stuff to dig into I think.

Edit:

after the facing away backstab Raiden does, press triangle and you’ll do the palm as a follow up

To add to this, after parrying an attack, you could hold Y to charge an ultimate attack without any start-up, like when it’s charged from landing from a jump. It was nuts.

I miss the Hurricane Packs.

Yea the Hurricane Packs where fucking DOPE. I have em sitting on one of my externals somewhere thankfully. Someone stole my OG Xbox and when OG LIVE went down for good the Hurricane Packs became permanently unavailable. When i get another old Xbox i plan to install them and relive the glory.

What do the little letters inside the aiming reticle on enemies mean?

Above it’s LKD. I think I’ve seen TKT as well…

I’m guessing it has to do with the enemy style. Like one describes a weak, light enemy with an assault rifle. Another describes a heavier enemy with rocket launcher, etc.

LKD = Locked-On
TGT = Targeting (when not using lock on, this it how it tells you who you’re auto-aiming at)

I fought IF prototype for like 10 minutes it felt like. Took it down more quickly once I timed my parrying and punishments better but it kicking my ass through all my health items. It was awesome to slice the shit out of it at the end.

Raiden’s stealth feels awkward though. Not counting ninja run he moves at two speeds. One feels too slow for stealth while the other apparently doesn’t make as much noise as it seems. I’m practically running up to these guys’ backs and they don’t notice. Must be the heels.

Anyone come across the grunts blocking and parrying Raiden. Not going to lie, that got me excited. As did cutting off their legs and seeing them still try to fight me.

Yah even though the grunts are easy you can tell that in later difficulties they will be a bitch. Also the enemies can dodge you perfect parry after slice too…

There’s also those big grunts like in the Jack the Ripper trailer that force you to block them and their hits actually cause you to fly backward (when blocked).
