Is MIRA really not that big of a game? So far it’s my favorite SNK game to date, but that might be because I haven’t started getting into 98 again. XI just feels boring to me…
See thing is I know MIRA has a big scene…
I’ll see if i can go to FRXI too since i play every single one of these lol just need to find a way to get there…

I made a point about Steve and the SNK community that was true, and you got all upset, and never addressed what I was actually saying (surprise!). Come to find out, you’re still upset about this.
Meanwhile, Steve and I still chill and game all the time… I had the very same conversation with Steve, face to face, and he had to admit I was right. Shit took like 2 minutes. DG can’t handle it though :rolleyes:
As for the actual topic at hand, I will say that Roski’s Boss Battle idea garnered the most real, live hype for NGBC that I’ve ever seen. Things like that go a long way towards gaining new players.

Heres the catch though and something some of you arent considering..
I try to run a tournament Friday night at the EVOs…but for the major tournaments its an issue because “Not everyone is in yet”…
And I dont like to waste time…but yet I know most people are going to be in on Saturday for the BIG GAMES…
So what should I do? Once again I do not like wasting time AT ALL…
This is why I would run the “little known games on Friday”…and save the big games on Saturday…something elkse many of you do NOT take into consideration…
If I run NGBC, KOFXI, Garou, 98 on Friday most people wont be there to play it…but on Saturday they will be…
SO I think I am going to stick to doing like a small “not as well known” tournament on Fridays…and then get the big ones on Saturday…
Just letting you all know now so you dont start questioning Why a game like “XYZ” ran before the big games…

Umm… I never asked for you answers. In actuality, my time would be much better served if you just ignored my posts, and somebody that actually feels like reading, thinking, and then responding would handle them.
The reality is that the things that I am saying could serve to help the SNK community immensely, because I am giving you guys a frank, realistic assessment from the viewpoint of a typical CvS2 player looking into your scene. You can choose to ignore it… spew all sorts of nonsense, and “agree to disagree”… again… that’s fine. It makes no difference to me one way or the other.
On the other hand, you could choose to pay attention to what I’m saying, understand the way in which you are perceived and try to do things to improve the way that people view you, and ultimately help the SNK scene flourish.
It’s really up to you.
Havoc but you see I am listening to you…I am listening to what I feel is constructive…ignoring what I feel is not…thats what it boils down to.
People are gonna keep viewing me how they wanna view me period…sure do I have faults…absolutely and I work on them daily no one is perfect. I’ve come a long ways if you ask people that really know me…**but I aint gonna change my enthusiasm for the scene just because some fools think I’m a “scrubby fanboy.”

Anyway, when it comes to criticism, much of what determines whether it is constructive or not, is the way a person chooses to take it.
Therein lies your problem. If you already have this ridiculous attitude (like you’re Tupac or something…), it keeps you from finding the value in any type of criticism. I know I can be abrasive. I know this. Personally, I feel like if what I’m saying is true, it doesn’t matter how I choose to phrase something. You could say that’s a personal flaw of mine… whatever. If you really want your community to thrive, though, you need to be able to pull the good out of anything, and that is something you don’t do. You revert to the mentality of a six year-old, and that doesn’t serve your community at all.
EDIT- Also, I don’t know why you think playing the games has anything to do with this. You could be the best SNK player in the world, you still come off like a scrub. You have displayed a scrubby mentality. Whether or not you’re good doesn’t even matter.
What you don’t seem to understand is that if you’re going to be leading the SNK scene into the future, your job is to market SNK as best as possible to the general FGC. When concerning marketing, perception is all that matters. Truth doesn’t mean shit.
Just judging by your posts alone, I get the impression that I could beat your ass in one of these games if you gave me until Evo to do it.
Now will I? No! I don’t even care to. Even if I did care to, there’s a great chance that I would be wrong, and you would own me up. Sure.
What’s important, though, is that it doesn’t matter whether I could beat you or not. What matters is that I firmly believe I can, based off of perception, and that sentiment alone keeps me from taking you (and via extension, the entire SNK community) seriously. That sentiment alone would keep me from starting to play the games.
Just for the record, because I KNOW you’re gonna miss the point of what I’m saying… I’m not gonna devote the next 7/8 months to playing some SNK game so that I can beat you. I really don’t care. The POINT is that you come off as a scrub, and it really doesn’t matter whether you are one or not. The POINT is that you need to develop a much better sense for marketing yourself and your community, because you are certainly a scrub at that.

Take the NEC8 situation for example…if I wouldve backed down from the whole thing I wouldnt have heard the end of this thing…but now as you see theres not much talking out there…

Havoc, I agree with your view on being a “capcom/sammy/ect player looking in on the snk scene.” It seems just too unorganized to be taken seriously. I actually like motw, kof 98/xi but, i doesnt seem to be worth my time to play if this is how the snk scene in the u.s. runs itself. The problem isnt that the games are bad/old/ect, its that the community cant get its shit straight.
