Jorge Saavedra went to greater extremes to deal with bullying. Sometimes he skipped school or took an alternate route through yards to get their to avoid riding the bus. He also reported the problem through school authorities. Nothing was done and one day he decided to take a knife to school and get off at a bus stop prior to his to avoid the bully, but the bully got off at that stop after him.

i find this factually hard to believe. he was going to be charged with wiretapping for recording live audio/video? other sites picked this up, but i’m highly dubious.

Tons of organizations do this to protect themselves.

You can go to jail for recording a cop committing a crime, that is if they don’t beat you to death first if they catch you.

Unfortunately, US schools prohibit unauthorized recording of students by other students. Even in AP/Pre-AP classes, we can’t record a lecture on the off chance we record another student.

thurst, you are a fool. You are black iirc. While you are right in the “textbook” “academic” level, real life doesn’t work that way for non-whites. If you try recording cops, you are very liable to catch a serious beatdown. And then you can indeed be vindicated, if the court systems want you to at any rate, and get some money for it, some year or years down the line. But I can assure you, you will rather not catch the beating, and that amount of money can vary.

If you’re in a business environment and you’re black, you have the advantage, but all that goes out the window if you end up anywhere near an incident or a pissed off cop. My friend, who is black, would have been in jail for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, you guys have no idea how easy it is to get someone who is innocent and I assume you guys won’t until it happens to you or someone close to you. I had to pull some strings to get that uniformed peasant off my friend’s back and the only thing he was going on was “a black man was seen fleeing the area.” GGPO all blacks within the area.

The media coverage of blacks dying from police brutality also counters what he says. From Rodney King to Amadou Diallo, blacks at the receiving end are normally held up as poor victims of police savagery. Many are legitimate, others not so much. But the media has the highest of sympathy for any black person who is harmed by police.

After all, even in the most conservatives of circles, the media is FILLED with unbelievably left-leaning liberals who are ready to milk a sob story wherever one exists. ^Agreed on the three-piece suit part. Admittedly, I’m more a T-shirt and baggy pants kinda guy, but when I want to impress the strangers I may pass on some random area, I will suit up. EVERYBODY looks nice in a tailor made suit, and I don’t care what body type you are. You will look nicer hooked up in a well made long sleeve shirt with matching pants, belt, tie, and shoes. Throw a hat on top of it and get a picture. No matter where you go, you’ll look nicer in that outfit than not.

Regardless of race, it doesn’t matter if you’re white or black, the point I’m trying to make is that you don’t want to look like a criminal. If a cop stops you and you’re wearing a “fcuk the police” shirt, wearing your jeans on your knees, and giving the cops attitude you shouldn’t act surprised if the cops are going to be pissed off at you and you don’t want that.
