I finally got this game and I was wondering if some one can post up some combos for miyako kohaku and len. Thanks :bgrin:

Because I’m bored, so you got lucky. =p All of these are incredibly basic, except Miyako who I actually use. Hers got a little more effort.

Ren’s not much for combos because of the way her normals work. Here’s some of the ones I use.

2+A > 2+B > 5+B > j. A > j. C > dj. A. > dj. C > airthrow

You can add in another 2+A at the beginning if needed. Make sure 5+B hits 3 times instead of 2, or else they’ll be able to flip out faster than usual. You can also use j. B instead of j. C, but j. B comes out a few frames slower and doesn’t work regularly for me. If you’re in the corner, tiger knee her air EX Ice after the airthrow. It’s unavoidable if they groundtech and they’ll eat full damage, and if they don’t groundtech the combo will continue (but be invalid and deal less damage). You can also add in a j. C > airdash j. C at the beginning.

2+A > 2+B > 5+B > EX Ice

Basic EX Ice combo. Some variations include removing the 2+A, or doing two 2+B, which scales the damage quite a bit but will set them up for the BnB listed above. Never use the EX Ice outside of a setup or combo; it will lose against just about anything in the game.

Air EX Ice is good if you land it off a j. C near the corner; it’ll juggle them up, leading to traps with ground EX Ice if they airtech. If they don’t tech, you can EX Ice and then land her BnB afterwards (2+B > 5+B > j. A > etc etc etc)

I’m not sure if you can combo off her airthrow anymore. I’ve been able to land a 5+A after a high airthrow provided Ren lands first, but it’s rather difficult to do.

Prime punisher for a whiffed move would be 5+C (5 hits) > 3+C > EX Ice or A Ice if you lack meter. Ren’s 5+C must be landed very close or else not all the hits will land, and you can only buffer it if the last 3 hits connect.

Ren’s got some good mixups due to her low jump and short airdash. Jumping B and C are both easy crossups. Jump C, airdash C, dj C is one pattern, you can also IAD and throw, IAD C for instant overhead, IAD B (won’t come out in time) to fake a crossup/instant overhead. Counterhitting in the air off a jumping A will give you a free combo, and jumping A has decent range and good speed. 2+B also has deceptive range and cannot be teched at all, but you can’t Ren or Satsuki due to their character gravity.

That’s all I can think of for now. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks im going to go practice now. What are some things that I should learn how to do first since im like very new to this game? And are there any tiers yet? Yeah I know tiers dont mean shit but I was just wondering who is the most broken character.

That’s been discussed in the thread at least twice now. Look for it.

the thread is also 900+ posts long. lol If you don’t want to answer then ya don’t have to post.

ADS: the game is being tuned right now. We don’t know the tiers. Easy character to learn in my opinion are miyako, chaos, arcueid, and ciel.

Use the search thread function and look for tier. You’ll see what we’ve already said about it. As for brokeness, play v2.000. EVERYONE is broken there, now I wouldn’t say anyone is broken.

Satsuki is so totally broken. I mean, she can grab you in the air from over half a screen away! WTF!

For kicks, play White Ren. With some minor changes, White Ren is 2.000 Ren. So totally broken and buggy. And her air EX Ice does like 80% damage…

Lol thanks for the replies I kinda figured some one would say to use the search and the reason why I asked again was becuase im not exactly sure what I would be looking for that would help me out but yeah its cool ill deal. So far I really like this game and so do my friends, im glad I bought those 2 usb ps2 adapters when I did, I cant imagine trying to play a fighting game on keyboard. I just wish I knew more combos

We don’t have a problem helping others.

The problem is that if we repeat the same thing over and over whenever a new person asks the same question again this thread becomes repetitve and kind of useless.

Because of that thread (A Hisui vs Kohaku popularity poll) and an image posted on the second page of it. I made this 3 panel sprite comic thingie. Thought I’d share it with the people here too as some might appreciate it. I did two versions, text and textless. I like the textless version better.

Textless

Hisui: Ne-san, sorry but it’s good night for you.
Kohaku: You can’t defeat me Hisui-chan!

Hisui Afterimage: Hisui ninjitsu technique #1.
Kohaku: Hisui-chan is a ninja?

7 painful seconds later
Hisui: Ne-san, I apologize. I think I overdid it.
Kohaku: IT HURTS AND BURNS!!!

How this is revelent to ReAct is simple. Hisui >>>>>>>> Kohaku. :bgrin:

Feh to all of you Hisui-loving people. Kohaku and Mr. Chin will extract revenge~

Hisui sucks! I hate you all! I hate all the characters you like!

Go Kohaku!

hey…is there any device that allows for use of a joystick (say MAS for example) w/out the problem of input lag?
I use a Kikyo series (I think that’s what it’s called) and it’s got lots of lag on the input. Any suggestions?

Kohaku > Hisui by TONS.Hisui may play better, but Kohaku is so much cooler. She has tons more personality and also, she has the best weapon ever.

A sword-broom.So hardcore.

shortshortsuper: some adapters do have lag, some don’t. Try the two-port Red Octane one.

Table-in-the-face > everything.

VManOfMana: Is there any lag on the Red Octane one?
Also, where’s a good place to buy one “in person”? I don’t have a credit card to use online so I’m wondering if there’s a way I can get it in person.

Unblockable bento setup ~4k-5k damage for 100% >>> Unblockable Mr Chin setup ~4k-5k for 300% circuit.

That sword broom while cool, gets owned hardcore by the feather duster. =p

Hisui’s fragile, shy calls of “saturday night fevaaaah” get rushed the fuck down by Kohaku’s cheongsam. Do you even have the option of switching costumes with Hisui? No. Kohaku can even turn into a cat if you hold 2 for 60 seconds. Sorry, Kohaku is clearly top tier. :stuck_out_tongue:

The RedOctane adapter is like $20-25 on redoctane.com, but I don’t know where to get it in person. Probably your local Asian gaming store, though I wouldn’t trust any no-name knockoffs.
