It’s different with furball here. He likes to pretend he knows what he’s talking about, and he has proven that by the countless times he’s been put on blast by people who are more knowledgeable than him. He’s been wrong so many times that it’s funny.
Why don’t you read his posts and you’ll see what I mean. The last time he did this, he kinda brought up a shit storm, and it was just annoying and fruitless. Trying to convince everyone that NA or NAC were much viable then everyone already thought, when the community already went through a similar, annoying situation when it made up its mind on the subject.
They’re new characters that are zany and outrageous, compared to the rest of the cast. What proof do I need? Should I wait on someone to translate the game’s dialogue? I’m sure I’ll be in my 40’s by the time that happens.
Isn’t this the same guy that said he wanted Gleam of Force as an EVO game? I’m surprised he’s still on this site.

God, the subtitles for these games are starting to resemble alphabet soup or a game of Scrabble.
That seems like a pretty weak argument.
Besides, even if they were joke characters, what would be the problem with having them in the game? Admittedly I’m not hardcore into Melty, but from having played him like twice, Neco seems like the game’s Servbot, and I don’t think anyone would care about (let alone celebrate) Servbot being removed from MvC2.

They are joke characters. And the fact you’re even trying to argue this and admitting you barely know the game is just funny.
And BTW, I know a lot of people (me included) that would celebrate people like servebot’s removal from MvC2 in favor of you know, someone that’s actually fucking useful? Servebot, Dan, etc. They’re all garbage, wastes of space and (most likely) included due to laziness (re-using of sprites)…which is exactly how some people feel about the neco [teams].

I studied up on the Nasuverse before delving into Melty Blood. I’m not going to be goaded into making an ass out of myself and acting like I know things I don’t; you probably know more about it than me, but I still know about it. Either way, what’s any of this have to do with Neco being a joke character?
Didn’t say I barely know the game, just that I didn’t have experience with Neco. I’m a Nanaya/Arcueid player.
In this case, Neco isn’t being removed in favor of anyone. So what are you talking about?
Because what does their newness, their zaniness, or their outrageousness have to do with being joke characters? Yes, Neco’s a parody of Arc, but joke character implies something on the level of Dan which is a gameplay issue, not an issue of aesthetics (i.e. being “outrageous” or “zany”). I’ve never heard anyone call comic relief characters “joke characters” before unless they meant they were useless.

That’s not the only attribute, but it’s one of the few that I can use to describe joke characters in this game, because I can’t read those squiggly lines that tell what the game’s story arc is about.
Yes though, the definitive factor that tells you a character is a joke is by their gameplay, but I didn’t say anything about that in the argument because I haven’t played Mech Hisui. I just assume that she’s not good because the other joke characters aren’t (NA and NAC). In MBAC they were the worst characters, and it wouldn’t surprise me if it turns out the same in CC.
@ Bold: Are trying to say that the necos aren’t joke characters? If so, just really shut the fuck up. You haven’t played the game enough to argue about it.

Okay, ignoring the hilarity in this thread…back on topic. Looked at the screens, looks like they changed the magic circuit bar graphics a bit and the resolution was upped. However, I’m not sure if this means the sprites would look better for it (in fact just the opposite, the sprites in those screens looked really jaggy). Not sure if that was just due to the perspective of the screens though. Also, I heard that the game balance is based off console, but hopefully they’re changing some more stuff as well. I hope they make C-Moon VAkiha worthwhile, for example.

That’s because they’re using an upscaler for the sprites. And not even a good one. You can play around with the graphics filters in MAME or FBA to get an idea what this tends to look like. Usually not very nice. I know they suddenly have more CPU power to play with but do they REALLY need to spend it on something that generally makes stuff look like shit?

i just realized that you can cancel out dust of osiris’ arc drive finish with your own…both arc drives cancel each other out and neither dust or your character recieves damage.
Can this game (or one of the older ones) be played for free anywhere? I hear this game was made by hobbyists, and I’d like to try Melty Blood since Evo’s hosting it.
