From what I’ve managed to gather from these ramblings, it seems that they planned on having a kid together because if she had “tricked” him into getting her pregnant, I’m sure he would have brought up that fact.

People always have, and always will dislike or fear other people who are unfamiliar or different from them in any way.
The only way to resolve the issue is with a culture and society in which people can come to understand and familiarize themselves with these differences.
Saying you’re not going to deal or interact with racists is not only futile because there exists no society without racism, but because withdrawing from social interaction only exacerbates racism and hatred.

I’m not in NC so I rly can’t speak for you and your personal life experiences that have shaped your opinion on the subject. I’m just saying racism, even “casual” racism, is far more prevalent that you may be aware of.
It simply irks me when people go through this much discussion about an issue like this, 1 throwaway line from a massive rant from a man who obviously wasn’t even thinking about what he was saying, when they are much, much greater issues of racism to get passionate about.
I can understand that. I think it hit me a bit personally because Mel Gibson has been one of my favorite actors for a long time. And this type of thing happening multiple times irks me a lot more than it probably should.
