but its working on poison if shes crouching tho

When I’m resetting someone in the air after EX PC I find that I can’t cancel my normal into stinger jump as quickly as I can do it if they were standing right next to me.

Anyone else notice this?

@Shanghai Kid: I’ll add all that character specific stuff later, TBH that’s not the kind of lab monstering that I’m really fond of, so I’m going to build out the rest of this guide, and hope by the time I’ve completed other sections, someone’s done that homework :P. (In walks @Geronimo‌…)

@Cargnage_AU: Yes, I found this at first, too. You need to do the input for Stinger slightly slower when it’s cancelled out of a normal than when you’re doing it raw. The reason being that the input is buffered out of the normal’s recovery, so it doesn’t come out as quickly as it would raw. It’s just a matter of timing.

@Geronimo‌: Awesome!! If it’s cool with you, I might just link that file from my guide when it’s complete rather than writing it up on my own. One column you may want to add is that after CH f+mk, against some characters you can link c.lk (I always use c.lk because it’s plinkable), or s.lp, or s.lk or whatever, but it will push you back too far for c.mk to connect. Against those characters, you have to do c.lk xx EX PC to combo afterwards. Guile is an example.

Interesting. I may have to re-test this. So just to clarify that column:
All the characters listed as “yes” you can successfully combo ch f+mk, [c.lk/s.lp], c.mk xx PC?
Did you try on both crouching and standing?

Aside from that, the only char specific thing I can think of combo-wise is that [c.lk/c.lp], [cl.lp/s.lp] has a tendency to whiff on crouching Elena from certain ranges, but haven’t encountered this difficulty yet with other characters. Elena has really annoying hurtboxes!

Yeah, that’s how I tested. However…I’m pretty sure I got a little lazy with a couple of characters and just used the Turbo function on my stick (and might have not bothered finishing out the combo), LOL… if you have any trouble and want me to re-test, just lemme know. I did also do CH f+mk, s.lk, s.lp, c.mk xx PC when I got bored/for shits and giggles.

Crouching-only actually. Didn’t bother with standing TBH, should I have? Since it’s an OH, I figured it’s only worth testing on crouch. I’ll add a comment to that column later.

I was also considering adding a “max # of s.lp/c.lk before c.mk will whiff” column, but decided against it. Add it?

Just want to point out that hitting Chun Li with Air Raid makes subsequent s.LPs miss beause of her reeling animation’s low hurtbox.

One corner role to can do cr.mk into ex stinger. Haven’t fully tested all the characters but it works on chin, ryu and Harlan iirc. It also pops them high enough to follow up with ex patriot circle for easy damage.

Only mentioning it because its an easier link into ultra than for patriot circle.

OP Updated with info on Mekong Delta Attack and Mekong Delta Air Raid. Sorry I’ve been a little slow on this, but I’ve been pretty busy with training for Evo + real life stuff. This weekend is going to be pretty busy for me, but I hope to have at least all of the moves completed by end of week. Meaning sections for:

  • Mekong Delta Escape
  • Focus Attack / Red Focus Attack
  • Super
  • Ultras
  • Throws

I’m also going to add his Vitals to this. Maybe include a little bit on his dashes. All the character-specific stuff is awesome, but these are kind of fringe details which I plan on incorporating a little later in the guide after I’ve covered the fundamentals. As always, any feedback is appreciated!

Only first 2F active frames of close HP force standing. In addition after the first 2F the damage is 100 not 90.

I wished I read that guide before trying Rolento in Online. I lost my last mach because I kept using EX Roll thinking it’s projectile invincible.

That’s odd. I guess if you catch a jump with it you’ll be rewarded with 10 more damage? Huh.

OP updated - added a note on using EX Stinger as a raw combo ender, as well as a section on MDE, and Rolento’s Super.

I know it’s been a while since I’ve updated this - life and whatnot, but I’m getting back around to it now!

The corner only 3 meter ultra 1 combo is actually possible in midscreen from what I’ve tested on so far.

The timing between the ex knife and the first rekka is weird though because the last few hits can whiff, causing your next ex rekka to whiff completely if you don’t do it perfectly.
