I’m not sure about how the scaling of the avatars works. Perhaps ReyArt knows, since his avatar is exactly the max dimensions possible, 160x64 pix.
BTW: What software packages are you using for creating, resizing and optimizing these gifs?

I re-sized everything using Adobe Photohop and made my gif with Adobe Image Ready.
Thanks I used fireworks CS3, but it changed the .gif color palette to 256 colors when I shrunk it down. I used ulead gif animator to optimize it by forcing it back to 15 colors and removing redundant pixels.
I think what I need to do to avoid the avatar rescaling is to make the image size exactly 160x64 by adding more transparent pixels if the image is a few pixels shy of 160x64. This is the only way I can think to keep the original aspect ratio correct and avoid stretching of squashing the characters bodies.
regarding scaling.even 160x64 get scaled down but not for all case… may be its by space too…

Looks more like he tripped and fell! Poor ELF!
A splash is kinda hard to animate, especially when it’s stationary.
