If I didn’t know any better, I’d give KoF12 less than 2 months. I don’t remember seeing a VA/MD KoF11 thread anywhere.

much like sf4, kof12 is a new game, and it honestly cant be any worse than sf4… in fact, this is the first time i will have ever played a KoF game and im buying it.
Depends on what happens when the game releases. If people realize it’s good and it gets momentum it could finally be the game that brings out an SNK scene outside of North Carolina. Especially considering SFIV isn’t everyone’s favorite game it’ll have some good momentum to work with especially considering it looks like the game some people wanted SFIV to look like. We’ll see. I doubt people are just going to scoff at it like it’s another SNK game. Probably the biggest reason people always took dumps on KOF and other SNK games is that they looked outdated. Which is not surprising seeing the hardware they ran the games until like 2005 was 1990 era hardware. They just kept trying to milk every last bit out of an arcade machine that was ahead of its time when New Kids were the hot thing. Even after 2005 they were still using sprites that were capable of being produced on the same hardware.
KoF may as well be a doujin game too, because most people just like it for the characters, not the gameplay. The only thing KoF XII has going for it over Blaz is maybe the ability to take it more seriously since Blaz is “super anime fun time” by comparison. I just don’t know why KoF finally got a big update in performance but now they’re taking the “reboot” route same as SFIV. Some characters have their '94 movelist, and some have even less. I guess they’re going for a “quality over quantity” route?
I dunno why the whole “reboot a fighting game series” idea has been hot shit lately. Hell, Blaz may as well be a reboot of GG since it’s 90% the same shit but with different (less) characters. Makes me wonder what the future of fighting games is even more than I did a few years ago.
P.S. - KoF XI looked like total shit. Even '99 on Dreamcast looked better to me.
Doujin? So now I finally got what that meant. Most KOF fans use to bash SF for not changing characters’ outfits. IMHO, fighting games are for fighting, not having fashion shows. 
And I remember two weeks ago I was looking at a review on X-play (don’t know how reliable that show is) but they were saying that KOFXII was “user friendly”, just like SF4.

Seems like you’re hating on KoF in its own thread. Keep the negativity out of here. At least until a few months after release. I agree with logan though, it has to be better than sfiv. My fav game of all time is still CvS2. Loved using low tier SnK characters to beat down Blanka/Sagat scrubs. KoF XII looks great and is the closest thing to CvS3 we’ll ever get. I really hope people pick this game up and give it a chance.
Every fighting game only 6-8 of the characters get real use. People just stick with what’s solid and then there’s the select few who randomly do well with the rest of the cast.
KOFXII will get its time.
Oh and the whole reboot thing…the reboot thing has been working in movies (games too) for the past like 5 years now. People like familiarity as long as you make it look fresh.
I actually made the thread because of something DevilJin said. SF4 has it’s issues but all I’m saying is that too mnay people are saying KOF XII is better that SF4 when they haven’t even played it yet. But giving the recent track record for the KOF series, I have no high expectations for the game but I will play this as soon as it comes out.

Its irritating me that there are a few people coming in here ragging on the game before they’ve tried it. Take a look at some of the videos, it looks fucking solid. I’ve been waiting for this game forever, one more month!!! Can’t wait!

I already talked to my friend MOD who just came back from Japan and he says the game feels really solid. SNK is turning over a new leaf.

Ok I had really high hopes for this game but I think im done. KoF XII in its current state is utter shit. Half of the characters don’t seem finished and are missing half of the moves they’ve gained over the years. Fuckin Terry doesn’t even have his Busta Wolffff super… i mean WTF! Netcode is terrible and i doubt a patch will do much. This game has some potential but it will probably take a sequel to fix/update everything. Sigh… i want this game to be good but i dont feel like waiting for another year or two for SNK to polish it. It reminds me of Streetfighter Alpha and CvS1. Unfinished products, with the sequels being the intended release version. I’d wait for KoFXIII/KoFXII Pro or whatever but I’ll be too fucking old for fighting games by then. Peace.
hmmm, is it really that bad? I still wanna try it, but I’m not gonna drop $60 on it just yet.
Bah, oh well, here’s hoping Tekken 6 will be entertaining to me. I need to play something that people actually play, lol.
