First of all, has anyone tried this out? Looks nice.
No offense to MarkMan or MCZ, just wondering why they went with a KE. In a way it seems like a slap-in-the-face to Laugh and eTokki, though I realize the point of businesses is to be competitive with products.
The 360 one looks great as a Guy main. I’d swap out the White Bat Top for a Red one so that when I’m moving the stick, I’m moving his red sneakers, and when hitting orange buttons, I’m controlling his attacks… (yes, I geeked out)

they replaced the JLF with a crown 303 (iirc) and kept rest as sanwa

not exactly a slap in the face…

And If I am correct Laugh show cased a TE having a crown 303 installed with the standard plate quite a while back.

If you already have a stick it would be best to just buy a 303-FK with a red top on its own: a) it would be way, way cheaper and b) the bat top and shaft on k-sticks are one piece - you don’t screw them off like a japanese balltop

Kool. Thanks for the info. I obviously am not even novice when it comes to tech talk. I’ll research more before posting next time.

Don’t forget to get the harness adapter

Most people don’t like to deal with overseas shipping. Overseas shipping is more prone to delays and restrictions than domestic shipping. There also dealing with customs and if you are unlucky a import tax you have to pay before your item even gets delivered.

Speaking of domestic shipping now —!

It gets worse the closer you get to Christmas.

I just recently ordered parts from a domestic vendor (“All names are changed to protect the innocent or deleted”) and USPS (PRIORITY MAIL!!!) is doing a nice job of turning what should have been a two-day shipping turnaround into close to a week now! I doubt I’ll see my package, which should have been in today AT THE LATEST, before Monday or even Tuesday.

I live in “the neighborhood”/next state-over to the parts vendor so it’s not like I’m all the way across country… Again, the vendor did his part. It’s the intermediary shipping service that’s screwing up right now because of the high package volume this season.

Don’t get me wrong – I am NOT upset at who I bought the parts from(!) – but you are always at the mercy of the holiday season AND the various shipping companies, federal and private.

Don’t expect anything ordered after the 15th of December to arrive before Christmas, in other words.
Especially if you have to rely on the Feds.

<SIGH>
Coulda been worse… I could have ordered from any business that’s in trouble and ready to pull up stakes (happened to well over a dozen SRK members in years’ past) and left me in dry water, or I could have ordered from overseas <D’oh!> and really be waiting until next year to get the parts I wanted.

Regarding the Crown joysticks designed to fit into Hori HRAP and Mad Catz TE joystick cases –

FYI, if you don’t like battops or want variety in ball/bat handle, both Paradise Arcade Shop and Focus Attack were offering shaft replacements that let you screw in your choice of balltop or bat handle. Any Seimitsu, Sanwa, and most custom balltops (30mm-45mm) will fit on these shafts. Full description here => http://www.focusattack.com/crown-jlf-conversion-shaft/

…AND it does sound like you can use pretty much any balltop or bat handle that fits the JLF and LS-series joysticks with the replacement shaft, PERIOD…

PAS was selling Crown CWJ-303FK’s with the balltop converter shaft installed for you. I don’t know what’s going on with that right now – that would depend on how popular the Crown’s have been since the redesign/Japanese-case compatible models were introduced. They may have stopped offering the Crown’s like that… You only have shoot them an e-mail and ask.

Pretty sure you had to buy the replacement shaft and install it yourself from FA. Might be the case with both vendors now.

I didn’t think the Crowns were going to be that popular beyond people who mainly play Tekken…

Ouch, another $10+ after shipping to get a ball on there. Almost as bad as seimitsu making you order different mounting plates to fit in te/hraps

Paradise actually has one that is I think $25 with the shaft already on it if I am not mistaken.http://www.paradisearcadeshop.com/crown-joysticks/994-crown-cwj-303j.html

Corey.

Nice that’s the one George was talking about

Got my two weeks ago and I’m enjoying it so far. The Crown is comfortable to hold and I enjoy how it feels when I input a motion. Not sure if you’re going to
have a issue with the size as it’s not that big as the TE stick. I pick one up because of the Crown stick since every arcade game I played had a bat stick, plus it was on sale.

Hey, not a bad idea

The only problem is that on the initial listing, it says "$0."
When you click on the pic, it pops up as “$24.95 or $24.99” (Not looking at the website now but that’s what I remember…

I would e-mail PAS/Susan and ask what’s up with the converted Crowns and if they still have them in-stock.

It’s obviously cheaper than buying a CWJ-303-FK and then having to buy the converter shaft and creating extra work for yourself!

And yeah,

One of my big bitches about the Seimitsu LS-series joysticks is the business of having to be careful with the mounting plates.
For that matter, there’s too much information in general that you have to learn about Seimitsu product before ordering anything! It’s a ridiculously confusing product line and you practically end up learning/memorizing an encyclopedia of orderbook information before it makes any half-assed sense. Again, ridiculous!
I just wish they (Seimitsu) would sell ALL the LS-joysticks with the RIGHT mounting plates installed for 98% of the joystick cases on the market!
That extra $5 I have to pay to install LS-40’s every time I want to install one of those or a 0.187-tabbed version of an LS-series joystick is something I shouldn’t have to pay as a repeat customer and user of their products!

The only times I’ve HAD to use the Flat/Re: Mounting Plates for the LS-40 and LS-32 => non-universal mounting faceplates on HORI joysticks. Specifically, the American T5 10th Anniversary joystick and the Arcana Heart 2 joystick. I had to drill out and remove the joystick on those faceplates… A Flat Mounting Plate made the most sense for LS-32 and LS-40 installations on those non-universal faceplates. All other Mad Catz/Hori installations use the SS Mounting Plate! For all the other standard/pro-level joysticks on the market, only the Fighting Edge as I recall requires the Re: Mounting Plate for LS-32/-40 installations. The last limited edition/pack-in joystick I’m aware of that also requires the Re: Mounting Plate is the DC Comics “Injustice” fighting game joystick. Everything else, again, needs the SS Mounting Plate unless it’s a bizarre non-regulation mod like the “Injustice” joystick.

I don’t blame the parts vendors like PAS and FA; I blame Seimitsu for having its head stuck in the sand about the realities of home market equipment or just being stupid and/or greedy in this case. Either way, it can and does rub a lot of people the wrong way! ==> Especially guys like me who TEND TO DEFEND THE QUALITY OF SEIMITSU PRODUCT and point to it as the next, most logical alternative to the Sanwa product line – especially for control levers!!! <==
Seimitsu FINALLY listened and started installing MS Mounting Plates for shipments of the LS-56-01’s sold in the Continental States… I’ve noticed that going on for over a year now. Most LS-58’s sold State-side have have been sold with the MS Mounting Plate installed… ALL the LS-32 and LS-40 variants should have SS Mounting Plates as the primary mounting plate for home-end use, too!
Can’t do anything about the Zippyy LS-32 clone, though. For that one, you have to buy the correct (SS Mounting) plate! It’s not like Seimitsu will give clone-meisters their parts for free!

How difficult is it to remove and replace the bat top on this MC KE stick or this particular stick mounting? (pardon my incorrect vernacular should I be wrong.)

What are you trying to put in?

Just trying to substitute a red Bat Top for the white…

A red Crown 303-A/FK? That’s easy, you can just drop it in and plug it into the existing 5pin.
