JLF-TP-8YT is what you want, flat mounting plate
Along with a wiring harness like this
And any 30mm snap-in/screw-in buttons from Sanwa/Seimitsu will work
MAYFLASH XBOX 360 / PS3 / PC Arcade Fighting Stick V2 Compatible with Sanwa Parts out of the box 69$
Is the white button on top a 30mm or 24mm, is it even replaceable?
the white is 24mm and it’s replaceable and the rest are 30mm

I swapped out the switches with E-switch 50g switches and all the buttons with clear smoke Sanwas. The stick definitely feels a lot better than it did with the stock switches (I swear they’re 400g or more), but it’s taking some getting used to and I’m definitely feeling the downsides of having a long throw. So I went ahead and ordered a 1mm oversized actuator in the hopes that it’ll improve the feel; I’m particularly struggling with quicker motions such as Stepjack in GGAC+R.
I find myself liking this stick more every day. The weight really is perfect, and the bottom plate does a great job of absorbing vibration and dampening the noise of the sticks and buttons. I can actually use this with my roommate sleeping right next to me, haha.
Is this stick compatible with the cronusmax? (i know cronusmax is terrible blah blah i got it for free).
I actually have a CronusMax, so let me test that out. I don’t have a PS4 though, so I’d only be able to test between PS3 and 360.
So I finally put the parts together to make my Frankenstick. It’s using the stock mounting plate, pivot and switch mounts, aloing with a Link shaft, Kowal 1mm oversized actuator, E-switch 50g switches, JLF spring and gate.
The end result feels a little odd, but still quite nice. It will take some getting used to, for sure.
The main issue I had with this was that the stock gate was simply not cutting it. With the stock gate, I simply could not hit down forward no matter what I did. As soon as I put on the JLF gate, however, it immediately worked. My theory is that the stock gate either didn’t allow the actuator to travel an adequate distance to activate both switches, it failed to keep the switches securely in place, or perhaps a combination of both.
The actuator probably helped way more than the gate.
does this lag? $30 looks like a good deal just for the pcb…
No reports on the PCB yet, but that’s definitely the old Mayflash shell. $30 isn’t too big of a risk to test it if you’re interested.
Be careful as I suspect the seller is hiding the full facts. It just looks like a bog standard Mayflash that’s been available for almost 9 years so when it says it’s 360 compatible it may in fact mean that it needs a Mayflash adapter to make it work on 360.
EW! lol
you are probably right. on the box it says “compatible with the adopter”. yeah…not really worth the hassle.
I say skip the Original Mayflash unless you feel daring and want to challenge yourself with modding the unsightly beast.
It is not project I would recommend for most people.
Best to avoid it.
It only became an issue after I installed the actuator. Out of the box it had no such issue, it was just that the switches were ass and took an ungodly amount of force to activate.
Does it feel like it’s snagging on the gate?
No, but I know for a fact it’s being caused by the gate because when I take it off/replace it with the JLF gate it hits down forward just fine. It also had this issue with a JLF actuator.
Interesting. Does the throw feel extra long with the stock actuator?
Nothing out of the ordinary, no. The stock actuator is actually slightly oversized compared to the JLF’s. I think it may have something to do with the shape of it, since it’s wider at the base but seemingly more narrow towards the top.
Can the stock gate be changed to 4-way ? And if not, will a Sanwa square gate fit ?
