wouldnt it make sense to add an snk title instead of doing both a2 and a3…sf3/cvs2 are going to bring in a2/a3 players anyway respectively-an snk title(s) may bring in as different crop of players—just a thought
Well we never have good turnouts for SNK games any ways. Especially without NC players coming up. Putting in an SNK game wouldn’t really bring out much of a “crop” of players IMO since there aren’t too many people in the area that play any specific SNK game seriously enough to have a sizeable tourney. I mean I regularly play with 3 other people that regularly play a bunch of SNK fighting games but even then…they wouldn’t really help to make much of a sizeable event for any SNK game by themselves. C3 has tried to do SNK tourneys in the past and even when the NC crew came out there still weren’t enough players to have a real tourney in any game.
An SNK fighter could definitely work though. It doesn’t have to be an official tournament. As long as there’s an extra TV or 2 to use anyone can just decide to run a quick tourney with enough people. People just have to come out and make it happen. SNK not being on the official list of tourney games doesn’t mean that it won’t happen. It’s just this is generally not an area (or even really a website) that is abundant with hardcore SNK fighting gamers. Some of the Capcom players dabble in SNK here and there and some are even pretty good but it’s not a real large amount by any means. Just look at the turnouts for most of the SNK games at Final Round. People just don’t show for SNK in the US majority of the time. Even when a game is announced as an official event.
If people want to see SNK go down…the option is there. Ideas are being taken for other games…but not one person has yet to say that they would like to see any SNK go down. If the tourney organizers are asking people which games they want and no one says anything SNK related…that says something. Which is typical of the scene in the area. I’m personally not a big fan of any of the SNK fighters so that’s why I don’t have any listed myself. I play them and some games (Garou, NGBC etc.) interest me but not enough to want to play them at every tourney/get together. Besides…there’s nothing wrong with doing both A2 and A3 if people have already actually posted saying that they WANT to see those games. So far…no one wants to see anything SNK at the tourney. :lol:
Hopefully KOF12 will give the US a real reason to get into a KOF fighter. Considering it’s good gameplay wise it will more than likely take off. At least it won’t be sore on the eyes.
