Thanks man… it was directed at the Sac guys - I appreciate it, but I don’t want you to have to lug all of your stuff if you’re pressed for space . Nevertheless, if we’re hurting for setups and you end up coming, I’ll let you know.
Sacramento guys, please help if you can. Xavier, Vicente, Acegik - you guys coming?
I see mintz has his 360 setup, i will be able to bring my 360 setup but no monitor. Last time some people ‘complained’ about lag on the 360…? i didnt see nor ever saw lag on the 360. At least anything enough to affect competitive play. Anyways, yea, i got a 360 that i will be bringing, fyi.
I can bring a PS3, but I dont have an ASUS monitor only a LG monitor. In game mode it doesn’t seem to get any noticeable delay, but I have to bring my monitors with it too. If you guys want me to bring the monitor too I can.
It is highly, highly unlikely that I’ll be making use of your 360 setup. Multiple players complained about the lag, and it seemed to occur during Magneto fly combos. Generally, MVC3 will lag more on PS3s than on 360s, but the lag on mintz 360 was worse than I’ve usually seen on PS3s. It was possible that the game wasn’t installed, but as I don’t know the idiosyncrasies of XBoxes, I can’t say anything about that.
The main issue with multiple consoles, however, is sticks/controllers. If someone comes up to me and tells me they need a certain setup and that person isn’t ready, then it can cause unnecessary delays in tournament. This is why I try to stick to one console. If everyone had dualmodded sticks, this would not be the case. As it is, though, I stick to solely one console.
Could you please bring your PS3 and monitor? It’d be appreciated. Confirm with me here in the thread.
That makes for four PS3s, three monitors, and one tentative monitor from Blacknoob.
I’d like one more setup. However, at the very minimum, we need either Xavier or Blacknoob to bring their monitors, and if both can bring them, we’d need one more PS3 to make five. Mintsquee, have you unlocked the characters on your PS3 yet? Akuma and Sentinel seem to be the most important ones. If so, can you bring your PS3 and monitor?
Haven’t been to Tapioca to check the venue’s space for setups… is there not room to bring a 360/crtv setup even for friendlies? Also, sounds like a monitor issue for lag…
We can comfortably do 4, but can manage 5 (which is what I’m shooting for). However, we do not run casuals if tournament matches can be run, so casuals don’t happen during the tournament. Casuals only occur before, near the end, and after the tournament.
Regarding the lag, it was NOT a monitor issue. We were using the same universally accepted lagless Asus VH236H with both PS3s and 360 and on the 360 Slim, it lagged considerably on Magneto fly combos on the Daily Bugle stage.
