Wish i could have made it last night… Thanks to everyone for keeping it clean and respectful, for the most part.
I’m going to encourage everyone to get here as early as possible… I heard the tourney started near 9, which can’t happen. 7, at the latest! If you’re coming from out of town, try to beat the traffic!

Oh and Matty…I can’t thank your staff enough for holding up the tournament for some of the players coming up north despite the fact that we didn’t all make it till like an hour and a half after the tourney was supposed to. The girl working there was super cool with us while we were on the phone more than once just to tell her that we were running late. I even told her to just throw us in the loser’s bracket and she wouldn’t even do that. Mad nice of her. Yeah next time we’re going to be there hours early cuz it’s either that or hours in traffic and I’d rather just be there hours early. :lol:
Well set up place and I really like the 10 dollars for all day play and the 5 going into the pot for the tourney. Not a bad idea at all. I’ll definitely try and hype this up for some more people to come out especially considering it’s basically a tourney every weekend. Cool meeting Hokage and Scott and good to know there’s other people who care about SF almost as much as we do.
Oh and it was Eric Kim/Ramza that won the event. He’s the most prominent of the “Erics” in the MD/VA area when it comes to IV. iNerd flopped unnecessarily cuz he basically didn’t eat all day but he’s already won like 3 of em any ways. I just gotta stop being afraid of Sagat.

Naw, we never fought but he did his thing though. I’m comin for that head DevilJin!..lol…Jk good games. Ramza really did me in something dirty though. The divide was too great to cover, but there’s always next time.

Yes, please come back! More hype! I’m excited to see where these little tournaments could end up. I know it’ll at least help me step my game up for when I DO make it to a larger tourney.

Thanks for the compliments, DevilJin. We’ve been having these tournaments for months now, and we do have some dedicated players. Most of us are relatively new to fighting games (including myself), so it’s cool to see how everyone has progressed. Usually I run the SF Fridays, but it’s nice to know that other employees are capable.
I’ll see everyone this week! I’ll be here, and I’m bringing my A-game.

Back to the drawing board for me. Some things I need to take care of…
- Getting a stick for the 360. The Fightpad’s served me well (more or less) but I think I’ll need a bit more precision in my moves instead of accidentally throwing out who knows what.
- Choosing a char that fits my playing style (although I should decide what my style is). This will definitely take longer. Since almost the beginning of my exposure to SF4, I’ve played strictly Cammy because at the time she clicked. I should try to run through the trials of the other chars and see if there may be other possibilities.
Not saying that doing these will win me any tourneys, but it might get me off the plateau I’m on right now.
I’ll probably be back down there in 2 weeks, haha I need to get TvC out of my system before I try to win anything in sf4

@Yoho - 1. I keep telling myself that I should use the stick, too, but I can’t really afford one anytime soon. And I figure I’m able to play decently on the controller anyways, I’ll be fine for a while. Apparently I do things on the controller with Sagat that is “impossible” like kara TS, so why switch? 2. Do what you gotta do!
@afro - Booo… You’ll be kicking yourself when SSFIV comes out!
