Cheers! I was messing around with it on the morning before the tournament. It seems it does cross up but it’s a little iffy and very dependent on when you press the button. I never tested if it is an actual cross up or if you just land on the other side however. It seems to be a good safejump vs bison nonetheless.
Thanks. Yeah I usually test the waters with it early in the match. If the opponent is an early techer it works. I never got punished for it in that match so I kept doing it. Bisons love to press dat cr.lk.
one thing i just found out about bison’s lk scissors, cr.lk scissors is just after he finishes first lk scissors, do a CH straight away. bison’s cr.lk would miss and you get free punish. been using it for a while and it really works if you KNOW he’s gonna do it.
I’ve just tested it. In fact it does work if the dictator does mashes a bit his cLK LKscissors, 'cause only the scissors come out, and they get counterhit by CH. Otherwise, if he just does a clean cLK (or two), CH seems to be couterhit during it’s startup.
I am recording since I began watching it. I’ll upload it later.
But when I did started watching… it felt like he was streaming for a while. He was playing against a Guy player.
@Kuroi Aima, did you started watching since the beggining of it?
If so, can you please tell what we missed?
Here’s a match between me and Kimo’s Hakan in a tournament a few weeks ago. His first time beating me. I know what I did wrong, but Kimo has also been getting better.
Dang he really did get you this time and yea I seen quite of few mistakes and I shouldnt have did that moments. You play Kimo so much since both of you are one of the best with yall characters, whats the vega/hakan mu anyways in your opinion? Looks kinda even shown in the vid.
i know this matchup really well, i play agaisnt my county’s best hakan player. i personally find this matchup 7-3 when he’s not oiled, and 6-4 vega when he’s oiled. in vega’s favor. play him like gief when he has oil. even with oil, it’s still difficult to get in on vega. cr.hp is a great anti air because of his jump arch, and st.hk stops his focus forward thing. you just so happens to be at the right range where te second hit whiffed. after he’s oil, that’s when you go all out on him and stay at mid range. when you are just outside your poking range, and you are on a life lead, just sit there and do nothing. he can’t oil, because of ex fba. if he’s smart, he will be using the ex oil so he can duck out of it to fake out your ex fba. if you know he will use that tactic, u2 him. when you have ultra and ex, and more then mid screen away, he’s dead.
the hakan player should be using u2, one missed ex fba means you’ll either land on his u2, or you get oil slided into mixups.
Just one thing: I was not ready to record it when it went live. Actually, I decided to record it the same exact moment that I started watching it, so I had to setup the software to record as the stream was going on… I had to leave during the stream and so on. The first 20 minutes is really messy, the audio is out of sync and etc. But the third file is really ok with its 1h16min.
Also, I got in touch with makoto and it seems that Twitch.tv changed a configuration and it was not recording anymore and he didn’t knew how to fix it. I sent him a video exaplaining a possible sulution and it seems that the following streams will stay in the Twitch.tv Archives as usual.
Damn it, lets hope so. It took forever to upload those 1.5gb files while watching DreamHack.
Thx man, I appreciate the share brody. I’ve followed him since the start of Vanilla and can’t get enough of his tech. That sucks that he takes his previous broadcasts off.
what…tell this shit to combofiend!!! so all these times when i thought it didn’t hit, because i missed timed my cr.mp…might not be just me??? FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
just one side note, i found out about this a while ago, but i didn’t know it affected combos…basically, if gief blocks a rcf while crouching, he can’t reversal spd, but he can punish if he was to block standing.
another note is that ex rcf to st.hk don’t work on cammy
As far as I now… crMP just won’t hit on Chun Li.
I didn’t wanted to test in the 39 characters of the cast. But seems unlikely that another characater will have a similar twitch in the hurtbox.
stHK is a whole other history, though.
Anyway, you are not hitting a crouching Chun Li with EX RCF so soon. I really can’t think how it would happen bar a random EX RCF that you should not throw out there like that, but she happens to press crLK and then proceeds to get counter hitted somehow.
For a lot of reasons I don’t think that Capcom will ever pay enough attention to fix this.
An example? Here it goes:
Seth and Sagat’s DP can’t be punished by clHP crMP.
After the clHP the crMP will always whiff. Its like this since Vanilla.
yeah, i guess you’re right, i don’t ever remember times where i’ll hit them while they’re crouching. that seth and sagat thing is the most annoying of them all, but it taught me to punish with cl.hp x ex rcf, so i’m sort of grateful it happened?? let’s just get chris to tell combofiend about it.
speaking of weird hitbox hacks, has anyone jumping in on gief with a heavy attack, and have your cr.mk miss??? don’ t know if this is a pc thing, but i can’t replicate it in training room, but it has happened to me in while playing people.
Yeah, it happens. If you do slide you pass right through him.
Once in a while, only in XBL, my crMK whiffs completely on Ryu charging focus… in GFWL that never happened.
I’ve always failed recording it. But its weird as hell.
There was an article posted on Eventhubs stating that many people feel that Vega will be broken due to the 4 frames of invincibility he’s supposedly getting on his ex scarlet terror. I was watching Chris King play SnakeEyez and I noticed something. If you watch the match and fast forward to 2:20 and again @ 3:30, Chris tries to anti air him with an ex scarlet terror and it traded with Zangief’s foot. At 3:30, it gets completely stuffed by his jump in during it’s startup animation. I don’t really see the invul frames there. If it trades and completely gets stuffed @ startup, then it’s definitely not an OP move.
Chris himself and we stream monsters came to the conclusion that he did the moves too early, both times. (see the Ultra changes thread) It may have been different if you learn to do it as late as possible, but you are right this definitely doesn’t look op or broken.
The majority of the EH comments go in the same direction but I fear no one in japan will read them. The fact alone that Combofient “leaked” the information about the brokenness of the move on purpose leads me to believe that it is already off the table, again.
