6:11:14 You could have done a much better punish than that.
6:11:29 You need to max out those punishes, why just back throw.
Why did you use the roll to escape, the hard version, you had more safety just blocking or using the wall dive to escape.

6:12 You where doing alot of unsafe things, if you wanted to escape the corner the wall flip is safer to do. The slide was totally unsafe and got you punished hard
When you saw she punished your ex BCA on block why do it again randomly?

2nd match first round. you cracked. when you get knocked down by cammy there is two things you should try to avoid, one is to panic and two is to mash reversal
Vega reversal is weak and pointless vs cammy and if you throw tech you stand the risk of getting hit by a cannon strike, your best bet most times is to backdash
she can only reset you if she reads it and you take less than 100 damage (unless she has ultra. which may not fully connect)
Whenever you fell cornerd try using the FA+ Crouch tech backdash option select.

2nd round you got the lead why use the cosmic heel as AA? you can just sit back maintain foosies and then chip her away, but still you won, gg.
3rd round you played like a true vega main. you got the cammy player to start 2nd guessing himself and scared.

3rd Match you got him Vegarized, he was jumping badly and you where not anti airing him even from the sHK perfect range or
even the air throw on reaction, instead you throw a sMK, bad call. once you outpoke most people watch out they will resort to jumping in recklessly, use that to
your advantage space them out and tag them with sHK or air throw. not anti airing cost you the round

This cammy player doesnt wiff poke you could have dashed up and grabbed him sometimes. generally you seem a little scared of stepping in to your opponents attacking space.

Overall you did ok. but have space for improvement.

Yeah. Sometimes I forget to think and my first reaction is to throw. I can react to whiffs but for some reason I always freaking throw! That RCF that got ultra’d…I have no clue what the fuck I was thinking. I think I must have wanted to go for a scarlet terror but pressed R1 instead of R2 and rolled to my doom. That was a stupid mistake.

As for anti-airing him from perfect range…The previous day I played a long set with K-Brad. He showed me that cannon strike beats stRH and EX cannon strike is even stronger. He showed me that if I show that I am able to use an anti-air Cammy has an option for it and I ate huge damage against her. I know I should have adapted to Weaksauc3’s Cammy and that was my fault, but K-Brad beating me 20 to 3 is a pretty hard thing to forget.

The second match I woke up.

Third match I was antsy. I know anti-airing was a huge thing I didn’t do in this match. I still need work. :frowning:

More suggestions and criticisms would be nice.

Also, in the 5v5 team match Weaksauc3’s Cammy took out K-Brad’s Cammy. If that gives you an idea of where this guy is in level of play.

Even though Vega sRH loses to cannon strike doesn’t mean you should give up trying altogether, at that range cannon strike will not hit vega on wiff so if you are able to anti air her from that distance once or twice then you can prepare to punish a cannon strike in anticipation, you have to keep your opponent honest that HEY I KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS BUT FUCK I AINT LETTING YOU IN FOR FREE!

On a side note you need to work on your BnB, I know that Vega has unplinkable combos and can be difficult, his crMK crMP EX FBA is also an easier option to take on in times of need. but punishing a missed attack with throw is not comforting at all.

And I noticed you rarely threathened her with Karathrows, maybe thats your style but when I play vega I like putting my opponent on the lookout that hey I can kara grab your behind.

T_T I do kara throw! Almost every throw I did was a kara and he was teching them well. My Kara game really is weak though.

I will keep the honesty thing in mind though. I need to stay solid and stop fishing. I am working on it.

I usually don’t have an issue with his combos…I just didn’t feel confident in my hits enough to commit you know? Do you think I should have just tried? I was too respectful…should have disrespected his ass.

basically you should have tried, usually when I play vega I just use crJab crForward EX FBA as my bnb usually the sound cues me in (on block it sounds like hitting wood on hit you will hear vega slash) and you can plink the crForward to make life easier. Yeah its good to keep him honest so he doesnt get comfortable, in that match he was jumping in alot for free from that distance because you didnt stick the handsome foot out at him.

As for combos its always important to try and one thing is that during the button check use it to warm up your links instead of checking if your button works, never button check with another character than the one you intend to play with.

Also practice setup branches for your untechables knockdowns, like if you throw have a setup that is very similar but needs the opponent to react differently, for example a safe jump you can either jump and kick then block string or jump kick and throw or empty jump and attack low, now mixing it up becomes alot easier. in the match you didnt really threaten him with mixup that much but you did poke the daylights out of him in the second match. Also vega relishes counter hit setups because it gives him plenty time to hit confirm.

Ok yet another Unblockable Ultra 1 setup on Ibuki and yes she cant escape it as well, its only a matter of time before vega players get the timing down and rain destruction on Ibuki lol! just kidding, CAPCOM we need that patch ASAP!

pretty much works with any knockdown that has ibuki facing up. i tried scarlet terror both in corner and midscreen, also unblockable

What platform are you guys playing on. I have been trying it for about a half hour and haven’t gotten it once. I can get the cross up fine. I have no problem timing things. Once I put the computer on all block it does not work. I want to see others post videos of them doing said “Unblockable” or i will not believe it to be true.

it’s on pc. i have the same problem when i tried it on someone else’s xbox. seems like a pc exclusive thing. unless it works on ps3 as well

I also play on PC and has put the PC on all block. Have done it at least 10 times in 5 mins. You have to do it while her hands are on the ground for wake up.

i like them matches, especially the rufus one! a couple of things i don’t like though:

need to punish whiff srk/focus harder then a throw
need to watch peoples meter a bit more so you know when they will mash (like the rufus one, you know he’ll be spamming ex messiah after a jump in)
don’t do risky stuff against geif, play it safe. that lucky ex fba could of cost you if he blocked it as he had u2 stocked. also don’t risk a rcf on him.
i know you can hit confirm better than what i saw on that sagat matchup, you lost meter on an ex fba even after you hit confirmed with cr.mp, cr.mk
after izuna drop, dash foward, wait a bit and jump in on rufus, ambiguous crossup

Nice one against Arsnk99, Makoto is a tricky versus, and he knows how to play her.

I’ve noticed your defense seems to have improved, you push less buttons than before. Plus there were extra-tricks (like cLHP beating EX-oroshi) I didn’t know either. And execution excellent overall as usual. Your play seem to have evolved since we last met.

Only things I see to be improved in this one is anti-air choices, as her axe kick has much better hitbox than any grounded AA Vega has right know (U2 put aside). Specially ST. To me, bjMP, block or focus seem the best options against it. =)

Tnx for the feedback. I also would like to hear some feedback on the things I have got accustomed to do. I’ve found some tricks of my own. But I cant figure out how risky they are. So I’m asking people who knows doing these kind of calculations.

1- After hitting with U2, I jump in immediately. This seems to leave you at +3 or 4 or smt. Cause when you land and do an immediate cst.hp, Ryu’s st.lp counter hits you, but his st.lk gets counter hitted by my cst.hp. If I do cst.mp when I land it even counter-hits his st.lp. So realizing this, I always jump in and mix it up. Mostly cr.mk, st.hp or, as you can see at the end of the Sagat match, I immeadiately jump back or forward again doing j.hp. Especially if you forward jump it really mixes the opponents brain up but more importantly most things whiff but you j.hp hits on huge chars like Sagat.

2- After an air throw, I immediately slide. And immediately do hp.roll after that. It seems to be a counter hit setup, no normal gets to beat it, all of them get hit with “counter-hit”. mp.roll seems to work too if you do a cr.lp before it.

3- After I hit with the last frames of a slide in the corner, I cr.lp and neutral jump, and nj.hk on the way down, nj.mk if not in corner. It also is mostly a counter-hit and no normal beats it. The same goes after an air-throw in the corner. But instead of cr.lp, do st.mk.

4- After knock downs, especially if the round draws near, I tend to do a whiffing cr.mk before opponent’s wake-up. I cannot tell you how many people fall for that and do their AAs and even ultras. And of course get punished.

There is a safe-jump setup after slide, the thing is it’s kinda unreliable : if you hit too early with the slide (during first active frames), it’s unsafe ; if you hit too late (almost meaty) with the slide, it’s a fake jump. So to me, it’s kinda hard to hit consistent timing if the slide isn’t set-up itself. That’s also one of the reasons why corpse-hopping after slide are kind of risky : you don’t know for sure what frame-advantage you’re at. =)

As for your other setups, I did not know them at all. ^^

i tend to like the u2 setup as i like using it myself, mostly a meaty cr.mk. as for the air throw setup, i dont find that reliable as timing is always different. certainly not something i would like to use all the time if the guy has meter though

Of course I do not do these all of the time. That would be super predictable :slight_smile:

Spooky Uploaded my match against Weaksauc3.

I need a new pad. When I was crouching sometimes he would be standing instead. I Grabbed after every blocked Spiral Arrow because I was so afraid of getting cannon spiked and Grabbing I think is the fastest thing Vega can do. Right? I played KBrab the day before in casuals and got BLOWN UP in a disgusting manner. After the SA’s he would cannon spike and fadc. It was awful. I grabbed him instead of trying to punish with things after a while and it worked. People have been complaining to me about my punishes of those. That is my reasoning.

I made a few timing based execution errors and missed a few links. Twice I went for a corpse hop Cosmic Heel into crlkxxExFBA but I must have been early because my crlk whiffed and I got a forward jump kick. I was punished deservedly. The roll in the beginning out of the corner…there was no excuse for that. I wanted to get out of the damn corner.
