im confused about how I approach Vega as a character. Im seriously starting to feel that he is going to develop into Zangief. But be the polar opposite during the approaching phase. Jsut get in range and scoop everybody out of everything.
but that Cosmic heel is still hurting bad, but hey, at least they fixed the obvious mistakes in AE. And Yun/Yang getting nerfed, will make Vega a much stronger character metagame wise. Its time to pick up Sagat full time to compliment Vega’s bad match ups.

its not though, when Chun’s old df.lk or Zangief’s EX GH comes back, ill start hoping for that change. Just move one, its all we can do at this point.

This Video says a lot about Vega as a character in AE. I don’t have to explain what, as I’m confidant that most of you guys can see what I am specifically talking about.
Thats a great video but i really cant tell if that vega was amazing or if tokido was unsure and vega was taking advantage of the situation. It seems like that vega was on point and tokido wasnt. Tokido didnt change his gameplan for the whole match and even misses his air fireball at 0:49.
If this is essentially vega’s gameplan then you have to create that situation where they’re mind fucked and hesitant to jump. Those air throws were really good and that essentially shut tokido down. This is all easier said than done, vega isnt an easy character to use fuck off whoever says that.
Its a good vid, don’t ge me wrong. But when I look at it I see a couple of things
- Tokido let himself get bullied and intimidated, and didn’t change what he needed
- Vega gets real cute when he can feed of hesitation and mistakes.
- That Vega was more than good enough to recognize what was happening and capitalized off it and won.
There is something seriously wrong with statement 1 and 2. That is not balance, especially in a game with low damage and an artificial come back system. It just creates more unbalance in the form of randomness because those type of scenarios cannot be reproduced every game.
In fact I see this in another video, the first link on the top of this page shows this again.
