I’ll admit I haven’t read the entire thread, but why doesn’t anyone do C.LP, S.LP, S.FP XX Rekkas/DP?
I’ve been doing it as part of my BNB lately and it does pretty good damage.
It’s a good way if you need the extra damage from FK DP.

because cst.HP activation range is shit and st.LP doesn’t always hit.
still think most people should use cr.LK, cr.LP, cr.MK xx Dragon Kicks / Rekkas, there are two 1f links but they aren’t hard (cr.LK, cr.LP is pretty easy and while cr.LP, cr.MK is a little harder you can plink it.)
i mean you can hit confirm mp palm (into ultra 2 / fadc / super combos), get good positioning, universal bnb, etc. (actually I’m pretty sure that cr.LK, cr.LP, cr.MK xx MP Palm / HP Palm is a really good frame trap too but I’d have to look that up.)
Yea, I use cr.lk, cr.lp, cr.mk as a frame trap but I get it to combo successfully all the time. Anyways, I some players double tap the palms and the dive kicks. I’m not a fan of double tapping but I wanted to know how it benefits those moves.
This is wrong. After 2 cl.mk’s you can only hit them with a dive kick to reset.
What are some training mode drills you guys. I’m too inconsistent with Yang’s combos. I lost too many matches because of a dropped combo.
Same here, it would be much appreciated. Also, could anyone help me in how to do ‘plinking’? I hear about it all the time and was wondering if it would help me with Yang’s combos. If so, how would I go about doing it? Thanks

imo learn cr short links into slashes and do the inputs like the the video above.
from some of my observations it helps you tech at the same time.
learn the basic bnb: cr jab, st jab, cr foward xx slashes.
slashes fadc into ultras.
just to name a few. also learn the spacing for you dive kicks and what the do on crouching opponents.
i hope i was able to help.
I can’t say for certain, but I’m pretty sure that he did those inputs because he tried to plink the lk’s. He actually does plink later in the video, but with no input display as you are playing it is kind of hard to tell whether you are successfully plinking or not.
The correct input for plinked lk’s looks like
:lp::lk:
:lk:
If you do the inputs like that, I believe it doubles your chances of the link coming out, however, you can’t plink s.lk’s because a grab comes out. Good advice on the training mode combos. Those are the ones you really need to know if you want to be successful with Yang. Also, try learning to link cl.mp into c.mk because it is a very useful combo for frame traps. You should probably set the dummy to counterhit because most of the times you land that combo in a match will be from a counterhit.
yeah i also see them do it after a “curious” dive kick so it was just a guess.
Sorry about that I meant :lp: : (
Yeah, I see that a lot too. It seems to be a very good habit to do that because c.lk’s come out 1 frame faster than c.lp’s and if you plink then it ensures that the c.lk will come out at the soonest possible frame. If you plan to begin a block string or a combo off of a divekick that was hit too high, a c.lk is the fastest possible way to do it.
i agree :3
so i played online today. which might not mean shit. but after my dk i plinked the cr lks and i cannot tell you how many times i auto tech grabs for me lol.
Because plinking cr.lk is also a crouch tech.
If you confirm a st.jab you should end with mk dp unless you are in the corner. Much better positioning.
Sometimes it’s better to push the opponent in the corner. For example, in the Ryu match-up, you can stand just outside of your sweep range if Ryu’s in the corner. If Ryu decides to throw a fireball, you can easily react with mk roll kick. If he decides to jump, you can easily anti-air with lk roll kick. Positioning isn’t just about the immediate oki.
That’s true, I guess we’re both guilty of over simplifying things.
ultra 2 now 3 frames more in the balance patch…no more strong palm fadc u2 now??? if so i am going to be so mad…
I was so fucking happy when I found Palm, U2 in the lab a while back. Like I know others probably did but I really liked it. Was going to be a staple for my Yang.
Now I dunno if I’ll even bother. He got hit way too hard, and Yun didn’t get hit properly. Was honestly hoping they’d give an extra frame to some normals so we could have a much easier, universal BnB. Oh well.
I’d just like to confirm this, what’s the best post-stun combo in and out of the corner?
AFAIK, and I don’t know much, FA3, EX Palm, MP Palm, HK DK is the go-to corner combo, and when not in the corner, j.HP, s.MP, c.MK xx HP Rekkas?
