*MASSIVE* HDR Tournament Series, $38k in prizes, 8 Cities, starts July 28th

I would like to spectate this tourney. I think you’ve got a shot man. That Sagat has been on a tear. I’d enter but I can no longer play this game. The HDR sprites and 16:9 screen throw me off my game too much.

I think they’re setting it to the 4:3 format, with Classic Sprites. It’s ugly, but at least it looks as close to ST as the game can. At least that’s how it was in Texas, so I’m sure the other qualifier tourneys would follow suit.

I still think it’s important to show up and support the HDR/ST scene in order to show Capcom how much we love the game.

Well that’s certainly interesting. Thanks for the info. Does it actually play like ST as well? I mean, does it have an ST feel? The older I get the more particular I get lol.

It’s close enough.

eltrouble is correct. It’s 4:3, ST sprites, classic mode. Close to ST as you can get.

You should enter Decoy, since it’s free (you’ll get your entry fee refunded).

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t their a speed difference as well?

Thanks, I’m getting my TE dual modded so I hope that helps my chances. It’s a piss poor excuse but my TE is the only thing I’ve ever felt 100% comfortable on I’m hyped I’m finally going to get to use it in a tourney, anyways you need to play and represent EC!

I’ve been playing HDR the past few days and have been losing to scrubs because the widescreen throws my spacing off, but it looks like we don’t have to worry about that anymore.

Awesome! And for those wondering according to Ganelon PS3 HDR has 4 frames of input delay.

It’s fairly close to ST. It’s about as good as you can, without actually having an arcade cab with ST in it. I definitely recommend you attend, especially since it’s basically free to enter.

For some reason, they’re using T2 in HDR Classic mode. It’s a bit slower than the golden standard of JP-3 or US-2. It makes it pretty damn easy to react to things, but the reversal timing is difficult to land due to it being slower.

Just so everyone knows, the official speed for the tourneys has changed to turbo 3 per the capcom rep. Please practice accordingly!

Funny, that’s exactly what I experience on GGPO…

Not quite. Even though GGPO is at T1, the weird input delay makes it feel faster than it actually is. At least in my experience.

I feel like the ggpo turbo 1 thing is way off, and I hate it

Does anyone know of when and where it was discussed to do T1 over T2? Because originally it was free select…

Someone suggested it to Ponder to change it about a year ago, when GGPO was being DDOS’d (March 2011), so when GGPO was up, the savestate was changed.

Pretty sure it was Poopasi the one who asked for the change to T1 (he tested Arcade speed n GGPO speed), since he contacted Ponder plenty of times, he even made a GGPO tutorial which is posted in the ST chat room.

It wasnt really disccused, more of suggested to Ponder to change it, he is cool n listens to players when he is (rarely) online.

Anyways, u can change the dipswitches to any speed u want with F2

I think I’m going to start doing that. T1 messes up my game way too much.

Just FYI, speed change officially confirmed:

We’re also changing the rules for SFII HD Remix - Turbo 3 will be the new standard speed for all SF25 tournaments moving forward.

Anyone know if there is any on-site registration or was it strictly online registration only? I’m not sure I can make it but it would be cool if I can at the last minute.

The Street Fighter 25 site says there is on site registration when the venue opens at 8 am. However, I think there is a cap to the number of participants so I think they encourage on-line registration.

It’s too bad these tournaments are nowhere near me…

But still people talking about they were wanting some HDR action… lol…

HDR<< ST

It’s still a fun game don’t get me wrong, but I’m sure most people have a preference to ST…

It’s being played on Classic mode. So technically it is ST.
