Joo’s page on maximum number of hits and what you can mash: http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Domino/3677/hit.htm
Good shit Magnetro…
???Mash up and down and the punches? no shit. 68 hits definitely would make it worth it though. That’d be a AHVBx2 kill against an assist, especially if you let it uncombo.
I’m afraid to mash the joystick up and down with Cable because I’m afraid I’ll accidentally DHC into the next character’s super.
But when I have no teammates or no other meter it’s all good.
Wow! So is mashing an actual technique in MvC2, or is everyone in here just being sarcastic?
Mashing is an actual technique.
Dickheads mash the buttons and hope moves come out. Real MVC2 players use mashing to increase damage, hit counts and escape capture moves such as Magneto’s hyper grav and Thanos’ bubble.
Oh. So as long as I know my “mashed” moves are coming out (and know what they are), I’m safe from being the proverbial “scrub”. Thanks for teh win!
Mash for the WIN!!!
68 hits on juggernaut… and its normal hvb
he calls jug splash to get juggernaut on the floor then does HVB when juggernaut falls so the HVB otg’s, he mashes LP,HP while holding down the whole time.
So mashing is about speed and precision, not untamed wild button-pressing…
greater_force wins in every thread he posts in
Im not sure if its possible to control but when Storm does her Hailstorm, it barely does any chip damage until the very last pieces of ice hits, is that because of a certain way of mashing?
I’ve seen it happen plenty of times but Im not sure whether its from slowdown or because of mashing.
Sup peeps can someone please put this page up in english or a link I can’t read japanese thanks peace.
I thought it was worth pointing out that this is hands-down the coolest sentence ever written.
I’m not so sure you understand. In MVC2, you don’t want to be mashing to execute moves. That’s a terrible idea in any fighting game, you never want to be mashing in a wild attempt to pull off some move. Instead, you are mashing either during moves (to enhance the damage or number of hits, like with AHVB and Hail Storm) or to escape from moves (like Mag’s Hyper Grav.)
Thanks pimp the chart really helped cable maybe just be that much more deadly lol peace.
I spent a few years scratching and I can honestly say that it has helped me out tons. Those skills do transfer over if you can make your brain understand that the two are similar.
mashing in marvel all comes down to whats happening. Of course, if your being rushed down, you should block but if something wrong is going on, like a glitch, you can mash your way out of some shit.
I was playing against cable\im\doom vs my ssd. I accidently did striders grab super and the other guy dhc-ed into IM proton cannon from cable to nuke strider. Instead of giving up, I mashed the fuck out of it and strider magically ran through the proton cannon DHC. I landed a combo after that and went right into trap and almost won the game.
There are alot of instances where you don’t think mashing would apply, one of them being the one I just mentioned. Thats not supposed to work, ever. Marvels glitchy and when you smack the fuck out of the buttons and believe, the BS happens. I’ve witnessed it plenty of times.
Mashing is TOP FUCKING TIER BITCH!
I once theorized that mashing buttons increased the number of hits, while wiggling the stick increased the damage of each hit.
I don’t think that’s true 'cause I have a ppad… and I dont mean that to make you sound stupid or anything bad, it’s just that there’s a lot of just-frame stuff in marvel that doesn’t make sense. However, I’m too lazy to try what you said in your example, sorry. I think people get the impression that marvel is all about mashing because of the people that mash everything they’re not supposed to and hit the buttons really hard…
Hi Dan, how’s the weather?
dander edit: Here’s a clip of 66 hit hvb PPADSROCK
