Marvel's Netflix Universe: Return of the Kingpin

Being slow isn’t a problem for me as long as things stay intriguing. I made it up to episode 11.

Spoiler

Gao is running a separate faction of the Hand that focuses on drugs while the “good” Hand is pulling a Foot with recruiting kids off the street to make warriors out of them. Use a couple of other kids and put them in positions of power to maintain global influence. They can give Hydra a run for their money.

Up to episode 7…

[details=Spoiler]**BASED Gao is so gawd-damned based!!!
[/details]

Spoiler

There is a theory that Gao is Crane Mother

It’s starting to pick up. It definitely not the shit show the early reviews implied. Edit: Oh shit Bae just showed up.

Episode 9…

WHAT…THE …FK!!!

We Solomon Grundy now!!!

anyone know the name of the song playing in episode 4 when Colleen is training?

I am on episode 9 so it is better but [details=Spoiler]I hate how naive Danny is, and his damn they gimped his ability to fight[/details]

Spoiler

Being naive is one of Danny’s signature character traits. It’s always been one of his flaws. I agree with his gimped abilities. This show nerfed the hell out of his powers.

Spoiler

I don’t think he read the comics, Danny can channel the iron fist in both hands, hell Coleen is a better fighter.

Tapping out for the night after finishing episode 10.
So far I put this above Jessica Jones but below all the rest of the other series.

Luke Cage and DD season 2 are still the overall top tier Marvel Netflix shows.

I would put it on the same level as Jessica Jones. I finished the series and I liked it.

Spoiler

It kinda sucks that Joy is seemingly turning on Danny and possibility teaming with Davos. I found it odd that Davos stuck around instead of heading back to Kun Lun. Knowing the monks are dead and the city gone would have definitely cemented the heel turn

So I loved both DD seasons and loved JJ, dropped LC after episode 8. Will I like this show?

you dropped luke cage?! gtfo

I have no idea why so many reviews are saying this show is bad. Why, because Danny isn’t fighting 100 ninja’s and bad guys every episode?

I am actually loving the slow mysterious introduction to the character and mythology.

I just finished the second episode, and I can certainly say I am enjoying the show and curious to see where it goes.

Can somebody show this fool out the door?!
@RockBogart do the honors plz

Does the second half of the season get THAT much better?

Stopped at episode 5, might get around to watching the rest sometime in the future…maybe

After Cotton Mouth I lost all interest. Lol

I just finished it and no, Scott Buck fucked it all up. It is clear he just Zack Snydered it and knows nothing about the character. [details=Spoiler]They basically made him into shitty batman, they stripped Danny of all of his charm and just made him brooding. There is also way to much soap opera bullshit, it was one step away from Days of Our Lives. Danny got some bullshit no kill code that he never has had and tried to add way too much emotional bs that shouldn’t be There. There is also very very little fighting and the show assumes every character is as dumb and naive as possible. [/details]

I personally didn’t watch the last few seasons of Dexter but the complaints people had to that apply here, he fucked up Ironfist hard.

Spoiler

Danny is too childish and optimistic for brooding. Danny doesn’t want to kill because he wants to hold on to his identity as Danny Rand. It’s clear it’s expected of him to abandon his humanity to fulfill his duty as Iron Fist and that’s a major source of internal conflict for him.
