…ask them how they felt about the stunt direction and choreography I guess.
- how many arts do they actually know? I saw kendo sticks in the Iron Fist shots.
Kendo sticks are just a stylistic and creative choice, you can do any sword or stick routine with them. It’s up to the choreographer.
Uh? The characters? Series like this mix alot of styles up. Hence your see bjj in a series that’s technically about Kung fu
China had wrestling and grappling styles (Shuai jiao, Qin Na, etc), but it’s fair to concede they weren’t a big focus.
Danny is meant to be a master of ALL styles, anyway.
sooo i didnt ask them too many questions for a various bunch of reasons mainly dont want them breaking nda’s and dont wanna annoy them since im prob gonna start training again with them. but i didnt get a sense they were super excited…seems their gonna try to ground the most fantastical of the defenders. doesnt even sound like he punches dragons in this. we ended up talkin shit about that fuckin scene with colleen.
Well, if Buck hired the same special effects guys as he used in season 8 of Dexter, that dragon would have looked like Liu Kang’s fatality from Mortal Kombat 2 anyway.
Jokes aside, is that possible? Does Marvel’s section of Netflix just give these people a budget and they can hire whomever (from effects to music score), or does Marvel-Netflix have studios that the show runners have to use?
The Iron Fist’s showrunner is also doing Inhumans. If Iron Fist actually ends up being bad than I worry for that show.
Though I want to give things a chance, because people can grow out of weaknesses, 99% of me is saying that yeah, you should be afraid. You Marvel niggas just don’t know what’s about to hit you. I mean that. If I’m right about just how much fuckery is going to occur, you guys are going to write an ancient scroll just to warn future generations about Buck after the apocalypse happens and there’s no more internet.
Hope I’m super-wrong though.

From what I’m reading, he still gets his powers from the dragon. Just no dragon due to budget
i mean i always expected that to happen. but in a
“howd you get your powers”…vague flashback shot “i had to punch a dragon…no…seriously”
Maybe they’ll have vague flashbacks in season 1, but get deep on that in Season 2?
Also, Finn Jones has responded to criticism by saying that Iron Fist is made for fans first and foremost, not critics, and people who just want to enjoy a superhero show will like it.
…
Again: I’m holding out hope here. However, typically people saying “it’s not for the critics” are defending stuff that’s not good (whether they it know it or not).
choreo wise…it just is too far from the rest of what the defenders created as a universe. you can do fantastical and still make it fit within the realm of the defenders. choreo wise imo you wanna keep those chinese boxing roots…so you make it like donnie yen on acid. kung fu mixed with mma. some john wick shit meets drunken master.
Yeah the second they brushed it off with “Well, it’s for the fans” my hopes pretty much nosedived.
I’m hype for it. No real sense feeling anything until I have seen it.
I’m still a little hype, though my posts imply otherwise. I’m going to binge this over the weekend.
I’m just hoping/praying that if I AM right about Scott Buck and he fucked this up, this severely hurts his chances at work in the future. Too late to save Inhumans, but they can stop the virus before it spreads further.
If he spent more time doing push ups with that bird chest of his, nobody would be worried.

Sounds like some of you niggas have your whole lives wrapped up in the success of this one show
Plus we get Defenders and Punisher this year
Finn just needs to have his Twitter taken from him by his manager. They’re in the middle of filming and he doesn’t need to be engaging or Justifying anything. They offered you a job and you took it. Just let the work speak for itself.
I am jocking and exaggerating too much. If this fails, I’ll probably just say “meh” and move on. It’s just a little sad to me that the Marvel TV universe might have it’s first TRUE fuck up because it hired someone they should have known full well not to hire (Scott Buck). I know Dexter wasn’t well known (even when it was good), but I thought that final season made history as one of the worst ever. Again, I’m all for second chances, but things just aren’t looking up. Hope I’m wrong though.
Uhh Dexter was very well known and wildly popular.
My bad; I was going off my impression of it and not actual stats. I remembered it was in the public eye until the season with Julia Styles, but after that it kinda fell off. People weren’t really paying attention until the last season. That was my perception anyway.
But if it was well known, then hiring Scott (assuming he fucked this up) is even more of a tragedy.
lmfao aignt they bringing dexter back…you dont bring back shows like that for shits and giggles.
