I just finished Luke Cage.
I went into the show not knowing anything about Luke Cage as I did w/Jessica Jones.
I enjoyed it more than Jess, almost as much as DD
Pros:
Great cast of characters and actors.
Even the supporting characters were good, (unlike Jessica Jones where the goofy neighbor girl and Malcolm annoyed me sometimes)
Mike as Luke had a likeable everyman quality and had a quiet strength and resolve.
I admit I though he would be an over the top character since Ive only read 1-2 comics featuring him and they were written in the 70s.
Im glad clare Temple had a more prominent role than just taking care of them and leaving.
Great music especially both intro/credits themes. Im not a hip hop guy, but I like the mix of rap/r/b /jazz styles in the show.

Being a superpowered character against baseline humans, the action had to be minimal, but I wish there was a little more crazy fight scenes.

I really liked his portrayal, but sad that he was killed so quickly.
While I like Misty knight, it feels like were being told she so awesome, but it doesnt come across so well in the show.
The police dept seems kind of clumsy or inefficient and she rarely seems to help Luke out much.

Finally got done watching and…[details=Spoiler] Maaaan, I will never not be salty about them killing Cottonmouth. Word, you’re just gonna get rid of the best part of the show? I had to take a break after ep 7 cause i was like “fuck this shit, I’m out.”
Shoutouts to Black Mariah tho that bitch was too real. I knew she was gonna the real threat in the “Does he have gills?” scene. Shit gave me chills.
Diamondback was alright. Pretty entertaining but a little corny for my taste. Knew how to talk that shit though.

Overall great show, slightly edges JJ for me.
Didn’t care for Diamond Back, preferred it when he was just this ghost that everybody feared, showed up to collect and disappeared. Luke and his story just made this drag out 3 episodes too long (which seems to be the recurring problem with Marvel’s Netflix shows IMO).
Great casting all around, I too miss Cottonmouth, it really should have just been about him and Mariah all season. He was becoming as an intriguing a character as Fisk, even more so once they revealed the family history.
Cage strolling up and knocking out fools with the flick of his wrist didn’t get boring for me 
the only disappointment was him vs Diamond Back, blaming the writing/direction for that. Thankfully nobody shouted out “WORLD STAR!”.

Enjoyed Luke Cage, but I felt there were too many convenient plot devices and also Cottonmouth was way better villain than Diamondback. It’s a shame he got offed like that.
