On the whole “asian actor”, shit is really stupid. I’m all for more minority representation being black myself, but when people are so crazy for representation that they don’t think and are willing to continue to enforce stereotypes (asian man doing martial arts…) you can’t have enough egg on your face to be asking for that.
You know what would be dope?? If there was an asian guy coming to the US, living in the slums of philly, and learned to defend himself as a boy by a black dude running a boxing gym.
That’s a hell of a lot more interesting then yet another asian obviously knowing martial arts.

Now Falcon’s story as Cap IS interesting giving his background and the way they handle him actually speaking out more socially and not trusting SHIELD and the gov’t in general. Its rather indicative of how some huge swaths of people with label you traitor or not patriotic if you don’t utterly trust the gov’t.
She-Thor is some other shit, pretty much stuck another hero’s mantle on top of Jane then yelled “PROGRESSIVE!!!”

Knowing Marvel they look more closely for acting ability than physical skills.
Not saying Christian couldn’t be good, but they’d quickly go with a great actor who can train and be convincing in the physical scenes than someone who already has the skill and is good actor.
I don’t think Falcon as Cap is as bad as she Thor. Sam has been Cap’s partner for years and the obvious choice to take over as Cap should the need arise.
That’s why I liked his story. Also the way they’ve written Cap has always been like Batman; The name and persona have become symbols more than the person themselves.
Thor on the other hand is his LITERAL god-given name. Beta Ray Bill is a much better example of a Thor-like character. He kept his name and Odin had a hammer created FOR him, though I think it would have been cooler if they made his armor with more Korbin armor influences in it instead of making him look lie Thor.
Oh no doubt, but in Sam’s case (to actually make the decision to help Marvel Snowden) I think its the difference. I feel as though Roger’s would have brought him in but speak on his behalf.

Obviously, they must believe that Iron Fist being white in the first place must’ve been a mistake and this was Marvel’s chance to “rectify” it.

If people are all pissed at the white guy mastering asian culture, all Marvel has to do is bring in Shang Chi and go “You were saying?”
Seriously there’s no reason to change Danny’s ethnicity when they have Shang Chi who, on more occasion than one, has been said to be better than Danny.
Yet, I’m pretty sure people would then complain that Danny is the star instead of Shang Chi.

Marvel always been hesitant in using Shang Chi since they fucked up by making him the son of Fu Manchu. MCU can definitely rectify that.
