oh yeah one more thought. the kingpin actor does not know how to speak mandarin, it sounded like he was suffering whenever he spoke it. i wonder if that’s what the other actors sounded like when they spoke spanish? but mandarin is weird and alien to native english speakers. i was surprised they were able to teach him all those sentences though. he did much better than uma thurman in kill bill 2
edit: madame gao isnt a native mandarin speaker either, looked up her imdb, yeah she’s from hong kong, so she speaks cantonese. that’s probably why her accent is off too
