If anything I think u will either see Punisher show up as an extra in a Netflix episode, to test the waters before throwing him his own series. After seeing them handle an almost R Daredevil, I can’t wait to see what they could pull off with a Punisher series.
That scene is probably the highlight of the series for me. That and when Matt goes to the art store, doesn’t buy the awesome Daredevil colour painting, then Fisk just pimp struts into the room.
And yeah, u have no problem with Thomas Jane Punisher again. Just gotta make sure the Punisher fucking PUNISHES.
Well original hulk had him tearing shit up in like downtown san francisco before he shrank and got captured, but it was also slightly isolated to an extent, so there could be easy silencing. In the incredible hulk he wasnt recorded at the fight on campus, but you saw like hulk toss a fucking hummer engine at another hummer, and the dudes shared their experience of a huge green guy. But hulk and abomination made themselves clear to NYC at the end. You could argue that in the midst of that chaos though, there was never any clear footage of the hulk or abomination.
So at least for the hulk, hes been pretty exposed. Thor has had very mild exposure, so i could see the people not knowing about him. Iron man we know. Ya, avengers is the first introduction of yo aliens, but even then, in so much chaos, i dont think many people stood around to see who is who in the avengers, or point out the hulk again.
Hulk right now is like modern day sightings of UFO’s. There is enough evidence to feel comfortable its out there, but its still kinda not fully expanded upon yet in the sense that now everyone undoubtedly knows the hulk exist. Hes always appeared in the midst of chaos naturally, so while youre ducking for cover, hulk is fighting, and then gone before you can pull out your phone.
I’m sure age of ultron will just fully drop that veil.
You know whats funny, i dont think anyone in here spoke on Gao being more than what she is when she knocked daredevil back with one palm thrust. I love that they left it at that, and daredevil didnt even have a post 30 second moment of wtf was that. It was for the people to talk and get excited about. The speculation is she is the crane mother.
Thomas Jane probably is the best dude yet for Punisher but War Zone was exactly how a movie should be, or defo the tone for a TV Series, ie no melodrama just anybody and everybody getting murked.
I recently rewatched Janes movie last week after we were talking about P in the lounge, the movie is actually really good lol just too much planning around a terrible Travolta character and not enough killing, but drunk Jane fighting the Russian was literally scene for scene from the comics.
Fight with the Russian was a bit better I the comics. Him throwing that fat fuck on top of the Russian to smother him to death didn’t happen in the movies, for instance.
While I like Tom Jane as Punisher I didn’t like the idea of Punisher being a young guy. If the MCU gets to Punisher make him a war vet. Fuck the cop background.
Hey I don’t read comics so can someone give me a quick summary on who Madame gao and nobu are?
Also when I was a kid I watched the Spider-Man animated series, and I’m pretty sure kingpin had an assistant named Wesley. Isn’t he really important? Why would they kill him in season one?!?!
Also the Leland guy should’ve tried to run over daredevil after he zapped him. Also not sure how the police managed to score headshots all those guards in the final episode but then minutes later the tables are turned and the kingpins rescuers mow all the cops down
Pretty good show. I don’t like gore so that’s my only complaint, too much blood. Otherwise fantastic. Rosario Dawson is hot as always and so are the other actresses. Those legs wowowowow
Dude was gased out, then he does multiple somersaults when a soccer kick to the jaw would have been just as effective, like wtf?! People are praising the hallway fight, it was okay, seemed more of a novelty that is was there. Fighting wise this shits all over Arrow and even Nolan’s Batman movies. Was it ep 3 with the bowling ball assassin? That dude would wreck Nolan’s Batman lol.
D’Onofrio did steal the show, Netflix know how to cast complex villains, same with Marco Polo, the actor that plays Genghis Khan steals that show too. Scott Glenn appearance as DD’s mentor seem off, they just didn’t gel on screen for me. Rosario Dawson was great, lol’d hard at her makeshift disguise.
I thought the final ep was a bit of a let down, I was hoping it would be DD’s defining moment but the ep got a little too cheesy. The costume is a bit hit and miss with me, it’s very similar in style to the new Captain America costume. I would have preferred them to also keep the blind cover but just changed it to red.
Some episodes do get dragged out too long but overall I do rate this the best comic book tv series mostly because the maturity. Arrow and Flash are still teen tv shows, there is no real threat, this was much more believable.
Funny that I was thinking this guy would make a great Jim Gordon, but the internet would lose their mind cos he is black.
It’s definitely a good thing, there aren’t many 20+ ep hour long shows with consistently good writing.
I’m also not a fan of the hard masks. I never imagine their masks being static and hard when I read comics. They always seem like a very form fitting fabric
Neither of them exist in the comics, per se, although a lot of speculation states that Madame Gao is Crane Mother, and Nobu reminded me of Sasaki.
I’m pissed, mainly because of how they setup DD being able to recognize the sound of his watch, and because he has a neat role in Born Again.
I saw it as Marvel testing the waters, for non-kid oriented shows. Very hard to do Daredevil these days, without it being dark, gritty, and not for kids. Hence why you had some memorable kills, realistic battles, swearing, and themes such as sex slave trafficking, drugs, prostitution, and more.
I’m 50/50 on the actual costume still…haven’t seen it in action enough to make a solid decision…don’t really like the mask though…as others have stated, I’m not exactly a fan of plastic looking hard masks.
[details=Spoiler]I really liked that they took their time with the show, establishing the world and characters instead of rushing out to be all about them comics like Agents of SHIELD season 1 did. Fisk in particular had great development and was a magnificent performance.
Very sad about Ben Urich’s and Wesley’s deaths. I guess they had to up the stakes, but still.
Favourite episode was the episode where DD and the Russian were cooped up together. First convo between him and Fisk, Bullseye cameo, good action and tension throughout. Loved it.[/details]
I can’t show favouritism after nitpicking Man of Steel.
I’m just saying I felt his powers were kinda all over, that first season. One second he is hearing a kid screaming for help halfway across a city, the next he’s got 3 armed people, one of which is fat, and at no point does he hear them in a building he scanned for heartbeats previously. I don’t care that he fought a ninja. He’ll probably be fighting like 10 Hand ninja’s at a time, soon.
