I’m on the last episode right now, and I have to admit I am not too thrilled with this show. Nobody has done anything, I haven’t been even slightly interested in any of the fights, the mad amounts of ninja’s from the last few seasons appear to have gone missing, and the cast doesn’t seem to gel AT ALL.
I was thinking See-or-se…but I was wrong.
I recently finished defenders and the whole thing kinda felt like a blur of exposition and random martial arts. The fights where it was 2 or 3 people were alright but, there were.too many times when it’s like they were obligated to cram everybody into the fight and it made things kinda hard to follow, or at least get invested in it. Like for instance [details=Spoiler]when the gang fights the 3 Hand members in the bottom of that building, I didn’t even notice Colleen showed up until after the hand ran away[/details]
There also weren’t many memorable moments that made the show stand out. The one exception is when [details=Spoiler]Stick pulled a Toph Beifong making a joke at the expenses of him being blind then waving his hand in front of his face. That was pretty fucking funny[/details]
I haven’t watched Jessica Jones or Iron Fist, but the Defenders convinced me to watch Jones, and avoid Iron Fist. Danny Rand is one of the most unlikable whiny fucklords in recent memory for me. I didn’t like him at all. I was hoping he’d get his hand cut off or something so he’d shut the fuck up with his “I’m the immortal iron fist” line every 10 seconds.
You def gotta watch Jessica Jones. Very solid show
Finally watched Defenders, I’d rank it behind the others shows, much better than Iron Shit was. Choreography was better and the character interactions were great.
Hate how black dude got beat offscreen and peaced out so early, he was the most interesting member, I kinda didnt give a shit about the other villains except for Gao
Man how can they write a character as badly as they did Iron Fist. Like, seriously wtf!? I don’t know anything about the original character but I get that they trying to do a stunted development kid in a man’s body type of thing but I feel like they could have done it way better. He is WAAAAAY too stubborn for someone supposedly trained by supposed Shaolin-type monks.
Like those monks seriously just taught them to put away emotions? I thought the whole thing in Buddism was to just accept them as is without letting it control you. Not to just ignore them or whatever.
Also most of the action in DD, IF, and Def is way way too fucking same-y. Why can’t Hollywood get decent action director’s!? So freaking annoying. I’m not saying all the action sucked but most of it was just barely serviceable at best

On the topic of Iron Fist, legit tempted to go pickup this run I recommended for the character. I was told in the comics he does take his role serious but his role isnt the end of all for his character.
And I agree that its weird that a dude raised by monks and etc is hella stubborn and short fused lol
