Marvel vs. Capcom Origins coming to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network

[*]thats michelle not lou. sentinel assist is really good but you dont get enough of it, so it sucks. juggs assist is good too but again you dont get enough of it. the soldier who shoots is good too because like some other characters will still come out in full even if you get hit. some will disappear from my experience. anita assist i believe is her name, the child from darkstalkers has some uses.

i mean you can do some serious mauling without depending on assist and get two bars, cross team super then do stuff, but it really isnt beneficial enough to use assist like sent and juggs that you only get 3 of when you might have some time opening up your opponent and you need to keep maintaining pressure until you make them impatient and do something dumb and get a hit to lead to big damage. especially if youre playing strider, you want those assist to just rape and maintain gay ass block stun for as long as possible.

MSH= finally, a fighter with gems!

Unknown Soldier is extremely legit, his sole weakness is the fact that you only get 4 of them. :frowning: I just run straight Colossus these days though, the fact that you get both defensive and offensive utility is too good to ignore. He just comes in at that perfect angle.

I can’t be the only person who thinks the Versus series didn’t actually produce good games til MVC2. Thus, I can’t be the only person on this whole damn site to think Marvel: Origins is a waste of time?

I can say this, though, XMvsSF made me an arcade king on my block and I do have to thank SRK for that. Back in the day, like, back when there were B4 Street Fighter Championships and the front page had Killing Moon on it, they had most of the XMvsSF infinities listed, nobody knew about it and SRK was my little treasure trove. Aahh, good memories, that said, I don’t need to play any of those games again.

According to Sven, anything X-Men related is off the table due to licensing issues (read: Activision). Also, MSHvSF isn’t in because they consider it a “relatively weak game compared to the others”.

I might get this because I prefer MvC1 over 2.

lol, mvc2 is a different game, but i wouldnt say its the best. i think the most unique thing about cota through mvc2 is that they were each relatively different games in their own aspect. its like the only thing capcom did right back then. wolvie is nothing but pure fun in msh, xvsf, and mvc1, and he is just a shadow of himself with shit on it in mvc2. storm was the first tri dasher and is the funnest to play in all the games, while magneto didnt get fun until xvsf for me.

like the shit you have to defend in mvc1 in comparison to mvc2 is really not similar at all and is its own game fo sho, along with msh. if you sit down and legit play the Vs series starting from msh, cause cota feels like shit, thats just nostalgia, you cant deny msh, mvc1, and xvsf. mvc2 is just its own beast like those 3, with different reasons to fall in love with it, and also different reasons to hate it.

if mvc2 got hacked and someone unnerfed certain characters and put them into their beast form from the past, and buffed other characters, you could have one of the greatest vs games ever. its a shame it isnt a project for some of the more technically inclined members of the community. hack that shit, throw some ggpo on it, or find a way to play it on ggpo even if youre not suppose to, lol, and we’re in there.

im rambling trying to keep the thread from dying. lol. someone ask mvc1 questions. haha

COTA is for those who like making combo videos and exploiting weird shenanigans.

That said, being able to block in flight mode is truth.

COTA is weird and floaty, real talk. for those clamoring over it, jus download ggpo and fire it up in FBA and tell me it doesnt feel awkward as hell. sentinel has cool stuff in it though

xvsf, MSH, and mvc1 are all cool games. mvc2 is a bigger game, the maps are bigger and the sprites somehow seem smaller and less intimate, which undoubtedly allowed for more zoning.

COTA is smooth imo. Omega Red was hella fun. I even remember playing it alot on the Sega Saturn a long time before emu’s.

Had a tight Soundtrack too.

Well, if anything goes wrong at least you guys will know the pain the 3S players felt when 3SOE came out.

MvC2 wasn’t a perfect port, but its accepted i guess.

MvC2 is acceptable and so far the best port, but after getting a DC and playing on there, PSN/XBL MvC2 is kinda meh. without online it would probably not get play lol

From the impressions of guys who played it at EVO (check the MvC1 thread in the strategy section) it’s confirmed that at least MvC1 is arcade and not DC.

Name one FG port right now that would be played over it’s predecessor if it doesn’t have Online Play (…and making tournies more convenient because who wants to carry DC’s around).

The problem with porting MvC2 is the shoddy state of the code (basically old ST code strung together with 2 generations of VS series code plus new 3D background code glued on to it) made to run on one of the hardest systems to emulate (Dreamcast). Just the fact that the PSN/XBLA ports were as good as they were is probably a miracle.

what the fuck whilce portacio?!

i know capcom wont do it because theyre out of touch like a motherfucker, but it would be so awesome if you could do custom colors in msh and mvc1, even if only you can see it, but preferably if both players could see it. that would make me crack a little smile. its a shame fighting games frown on custom colors, when at one point it wasnt normal, but it wasnt abnormal to have it. eh

you might want to edit that. its all mixed up like shit and barely understandable.

I haven’t played MvC1 in a while, does Morrigan’s Lvl 3 Ult (The one with heart and curtains) have a legitimate unblockable setup? I’m too lazy to test out, it seems as though all you need to do is knock the opponent out and on the incoming character use her ult.
