Marvel VS Capcom 2 is the best fighting game ever

It is a great game. It’s a pity that Capcom changed gears so drastically regarding fighting games after it’s release, trying to recapture the old school feel or something. Its feels like every fighting game up to MvC2 was an improvement over the last, and everything since has just been downhill, Capcom or otherwise.

Hopefully they’ll return from their haitus on COTA-based engine games sometime… but I’m not holding my breath. :frowning:

If you ask me MvC2 is just below A3 which is just below CVS2 which is (again) just below 3s. Just because one can do infinites doesnt make a game “the best” >.>

SF3:TS is the greatest fighter ever made.

No one ever thinks of stop feeding the flames. It’s like throwing more wood into a fire.

Anyways, MVC2 is fun, but it’s also crap at the same time. 3s is definetly the best though.

3S easily is the best

Nah…

MvC2 is currently:

  • the most popular fighting game ONLY in US
  • the most entertaining and flashy fighting game
  • the most buggy game ever released in the arcade
  • the game where the top tiers have never been so clearly defined
  • the game where the top teams have never been so clearly defined
  • the game where grabbing is the least ever used in fighting games… except with Magneto and some a few non-stop tiers.
  • the easiest game to pull a 100% combo, infinite, and semi-infinite

Marvel man… It’s how a nigga eat.

Fixed it.

If u r :

<22 mvc2, 3s, cvs2
22-25 ST, A3
>25 HF, SF2

You guys want to know why people love Marvel. It’s not just about the flashiness, or graphics, or even the combos, it’s mainly the FREEDOM.

The MVC2 Engine allows so much freedom that Old School games don’t have. I don’t care how technical a fighter is, if it plays like SC2 where jumping 2 feet, high damage, quick matches, and slow gameplay with minimal manueverabilty, I’m bored already.

I’m not saying 3S and SC2, etc… don’t deserve their props, but Marvel offers freedom in combos, special movement (air dashing), DHCs, no guard meter, and air blocking. Most characters have souped up attacks that just look impressive to look at even after 4 years. Plus being the fastest fighting game is a plus.

So if you enjoy, C.MK xx Hadoken combos and high priority poking then more power to you :pleased: but I’d rather have some good 'ol fashioned overpowered character, 32337856383092748 combos and infinites fun. Balance and fun are on 2 different wavelengths for me. :lovin:

You get that freedom with Virtua Fighter as well, with combos and attacks, except it’s even more free since you don’t always have to be attcking. It just doesn’t look fancy and knock you 40 ft. in the air.

VF4>everything

Block button(when used like in VF and DOA) > than holding back on the joystick.

Sounds like somebody has never played Pong

Pong isnt exactly a fighting game…

Blip*… Bloop*… Blip*. Bloop*- TAIGAUPPAHCUTT!*

A friend of mine recently bought vfevo and i have to say that game is fun as shit. So much to learn and master. Especially Akira, that 1 frame knee is kicking my ass…Do you know the tiers in that game?

peace

Naw, out of all the games I like MvC2 the most… I think its the best.

co-sign

I like MVC2 at first when bugs and top tiers aren’t found yet since infinite are’nt found also.

But now out of fifty characters at least nine charcters can only used due tto the bugs they have like infinites moves.

In conclusion I like MVC than MVC2.

wait… so you like a game where you have 4 characters that people pick, instead of your “nine”…

red venom, gold war machine, war machine, and strider… you can’t say they don’t own that game…

mvc2 still has…

cable, sent, storm, magneto (derff)
strider, doom, blackheart, spiral, ironman, cyclops, psylocke, commando, tron, megaman, dhalsim, and rogue… go figure…

no way i totally found an unbloackable just frame in that game zomg so broken

WTF!!!
