Marvel: the worst netcode I've ever played

for me the netcode is the least of my problems, random dropping and crashing are my huge issues with this.

when I can actually get full matches in they feel great(as great as mvc2 online could be anyway)

Backbone Entertainment is the company dude.

Definitely not worse than KOFXIIā€™s netcode.

360 is pretty playable. You gotta set it input lag to low and hope the other person doesnā€™t have anyone surfing the internet at the same time. Local regional connections work best. You have to play on a CRT. Even playing on the Evo Monitor doesnā€™t cut it.

Having said that I canā€™t tolerate playing online on the 360 anymore. I canā€™t imagine how much worse it is on PSN.

Thereā€™s a reason why this guy created this thread.

Uhh my MVC2 works perfectly fine. I have a really good cable connection though with nobody in my neighborhood having time warner.

Iā€™d like to know what the online is like as Iā€™ve played online once, every other time I tried the game either crashed or froze.

yea this netcode is really bad, especially if I play anyone midwest to eastcoast, seems everyone just teleports.

i have better connections on mvc2 than sf4 :S what are u talking about?

This.

If itā€™s that bad to you, just play on the same coast.

Very few laggy matches here. All I do is create a lobby or spam quick match though. The real problems are the in-game glitches and lobby freezing when someone disconnects.

I havent had any lag problems at all. My game is running smoothly. I also live in a apartment complex, where 60 percent of the residents have dsl. Im on the psn network.

I havenā€™t even been able to play an online match on this piece yet.

So, last night, I pick Quick Match, and then itā€™s all ā€œSearching for matchesā€¦ā€ So, like, five minutes elapse, and Iā€™m thinking itā€™s taking an awfully long time, and I press the PS button. Nothing happens. Then I try holding the PS button to call up the Impose screen. Nothing. Then I hit the power button, and the PS3 hangs for 60 seconds, beeps three times, and then reboots.

So then Iā€™m like, ā€œFuck this,ā€ and just play Blaz Blue, which runs flawlessly.

Thanks, Backbone.

there have been some laggy games for sure

but this runs just fine for me for the most part

Netcode so good it buys itself.

Oh yeah. Strangely enough, it did buy itself.

So Iā€™m looking at PlayStationStore, and I click Marvel. And then the shit just rapidly clicks itself several times, and buys itself. Iā€™m like, ā€œWhat the hell? What do you mean ā€˜Confirm purchaseā€™?ā€

And then, yeah. I hit cancel, but itā€™s too late; that shit added itself to my download list.

as iā€™m in ireland, i play matches against fellow europeans and also folks from the states.

iā€™m on a 10meg cable connection

i of course have all the same glitch issues in the lobbies but my experience online seems to depend on who iā€™m playing.

9 times out of 10 its fine, but then suddenly iā€™m punching mid air as my opponent vanishes and reappears on the far side of the screen.

stands to reason then that the problems are not universal.

my blazblue has a flawless connection nearly every time btw, and most of my opponenets are in the states, as the game isnā€™t out in europe.

Iā€™ve had some pretty laggy games. I thought we were playing underwater.

Backbone is shitā€¦why are they chosen to do these games?
wasnā€™t SF2:HD spose to get trophy support like last year?

Who cares about trophiesā€¦?

Are yā€™all talking about MvC2? Itā€™s the best out of the fgs I own SSF4 lags, Tekken 6 lags even more, MvC2 doesnā€™t at all.
