She was credited at the bottom of the original poster. Agents negotiate the billing and placement of names on movie posters. The placing on the poster also determines how much a actor gets paid and/or how many lines a character has in the movie.
Pom Klementieff’s, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillian, and Benedict Wong’s characters were on the Infinity War poster but weren’t credited at the top of the poster.
Where was the outrage when Marvel released that poster?
Knowing how long changes for artwork usually takes within a corporate setting (multiple approvals needed up and down the line), seeing how fast they did the change tells me that they already knew about it and already had the replacement artwork ready. They’re just using this to spin it in a way that puts them in a positive, “we listen to the fans”, light.
I mean, having word get out that the whole cast refuse to work on it without Gunn along with a few of them being VERY vocal about how displeased they were with Gunn getting canned making Disney look shit makes Disney reevaluate their decision.
They caved to the negative publicity. Which is just bullshit.
Among the tweets that forced Disney and Marvel’s hand were: “I like when little boys touch me in my silly place.”
“The best thing about being raped is when you’re done being raped and it’s like ‘whew this feels great, not being raped!’”
Disney responded quickly and decisively: “The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him,” said Alan Horn, Walt Disney Studios chairman, in a statement just released.
Nice to see them being so forgiving with their ilk.
