Man, when that Ultron voice over started, I instantly thought it was âsuper evil Vince Mcmahonâ for some random, not bad reason. Film looks hype as hell though. Itâll probably be another thing where all those people who say âIâm so done with superhero moviesâ, take it as another excuse to go âwell, maybe just one moreâ.
I really didnât like DOFP Quicksilver. I really canât take off the whole American Horror Story image from the actor and i hated DOFP so i couldnât love it. I wish for a Magneto reference in A2 because i would like the non-comic fan audience to know that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are Magsâ kids.
And yâknow, for anything that big to move at all; square-cube law, folks. tl;dr explanation: 2x bigger, 4x heavier, in general. Itâs why land animals literally cannot get anywhere near as massive as those that live in water; the water helps support their weight, compare whales and elephants, for instance.
That thing is literally a couple of times bulkier than Bruce(check it out) and doesnât even BUDGE when it caught/blocked his punch, didnât even slide back. Weâre easily talking 40-50+ tons as a low guess here off that alone, not even going into how much artificial muscle would be needed to actually consider out-brawning the (more-grounded in realistic science, to a point) Hulk, even if it is stuff like this. http://www.gizmag.com/vanadium-dioxide-micromuscle/30217/) Think about it.
Also, allow me to break the trailer down somewhat. Walls of text inbound, spoiler-ed for you convenience.
[details=Spoiler]A big theme here is, obviously, âstringsâ, and in this context they = morality/being âthe fetteredâ as it were. And SHIELD+the heroes(i.e. the Avengers, and some smaller-time folks) working with it usually react(ed, in SHIELDâs case) to trouble, not actually act to preclude any. They never stopped violence, cruelty, and the act of generally just screwing life up for other people from existing as concepts.
âŚBut they couldâve, and they DIDNâT. And even though he is taking it unnecessarily overboard(as many full-circle revolutions and popular leaders in actual history have)âŚHeâs got 'em there. As ugly as that particular truth is, the âgood guysâ here never actively got rid of conflict at any sources, nor the flaws in human nature that make violence sound like a good thing.[/details]

As a direct example, In WS, Cap said âThis isnât freedom. Itâs fear.â, but Hydra exists in the modern world of the MCU because Dr. Zola was allowed to have âfreedomâ; he was pardoned, and not executed for his war crimes like many important Nazis IRL were at Nuremburg and other big-name historical trials post Axis powers surrendering. Because of the fact that he was allowed to live after what he had been responsible for, Hydra was able to invoke itâs catchphrase, âCut off one head, two more grow in itâs place!â at a near-meta level, as we know.

Derailing somewhat, you know how Optimus Primeâs catchphrase is âFreedom is the right of all sentient beings.â? Well, as long as freedom is a thing, most sentient beings choose to do evil/things to enrich themselves at the expense of others, though it IS heavily nuanced. I mean, look at the USâs foreign policy for the last 20 years; that warhawks and shills are allowed into offices is why the War on Terror was ever a thing and how we were ever seriously involved in the Middle East(oil!) in the first place, and most of why our economy has ever been in the hole after the Great Depression.
assumes people read anything of what I just spouted and didnât go "tl,dr!"
When you think about it, the âgoodâ guys in the MCU really HAVENâT changed anything.
And neither have we.
âŚYo, Marvel.
they canât directly mention Magneto being their dad, but you better believe theyâll throw in some sort of joke or one-liner, for the true fans of Marvel.
so Iron Man 3 should have been Avengers 2? Didnât everybody bitch because Iron Man 2 was Avengers 0.5?
and thatâs probably just Hulk fighting Stark in the Hulkbuster armor. If theyâre setting up Civil War, then they need to make Hulk a villain (in the eyes of Stark), so he can get shot into space. Which means he needs to fight him. Besides, Avengers 3 will be Infinity Gauntlet, so no time for Hulkbuster armor there. Then itâs time to change the core storyline.
im almost wondering if there is gonna be a full on Avengers vs Hulk fight in this movie. Would explain why nobody is looking at Bruce Banner, and why he is curled up in a ball.
Iâd like to think that they will surprise everybody with a Black Panther reveal, and RockB will literally explode at the speed of light, releasing gifâs into the atmosphere and blocking out the sun.
I read that the broken Cap shield is from a dream Wanda has, of all the Avengers dead, with Capâs shield all busted. It was shown in the SDCC trailer.
They dont transform, they steal powers and can transform. Mystiques mutant ability isnt stealing powers. I remember my first comic book (sarcasm). lol
Its explained in those links that rogue was suppose to be a part of the story, which makes sense as to how the sentinels can steal powers, since that is not mystiques ability. It was poorly written in the movie where the small doctor implied that they could make sentinels that could adapat to any environment, and transform, which people took as the source of how the sentinels could steal mutant powers, but they took it the wrong way. Mystiques ability to transform her body, allowing her in some cases depending on the mutant/person, change how she adapts to environment (size changes, muscle changes, eyes, ears, etc.) is different then stealing powers.
Theoretically mystique should be able to do much more with her abilities, turning herself into a low to mid tier mutant, or even into an omega level mutant because of how she can manipulate her genes/matter at will, but i do not believe that is something the comics explored much into. I think one time they did, around when we found out iceman is an omega level mutant, but i could be wrong.
Disagreeing with my post, and then still being wrong. LOLCOPTERS.
The robots simply transform their skin⌠Just like Mystique does. IIRC They turn into metal or stone, to overcome Colossus and Sunspot powers. IIRC they also created some extra joints in their limbs, but Mystique could even mimic some extra body parts, like Wolverineâs claws in the first movie.
The only part resembling âstealing powersâ I saw was them using a heat ray attack, that might look like Sunspotâs ability, but nothing says they âstoleâ that power from him, thatâs probably just one of their standard abilites.
