10/10!!
10 OUT OF FKIN’ 10!!

Spider-man 2 just booted from the top Spider-man movie spot.
Best portrayal of Parker since Spectacular Spider-man animated series, and I love the mentor relationship that he had with Iron Man.

Agreed on both accounts!!!

I just saw the movie. Definitely the best Spider-Man movie and the best portrayal of Peter on film.

This Spider-Man movie was great and very fun. I believe the best Spider-Man stories have revolved around him being a teen balancing school, his personal life and trying to be a hero.

I’d probably say 100% but I have zero problem with it. I don’t think there’s anything sacred about Mary Jane as we know her from the comics. If the MCU wants to switch her character up I say go for it. She may even come back with some red streaks in her hair or something which might bring her a little closer.

I liked that he’s got great power but always seemed to kind of fuck up whatever he was doing.

I think she will make a great MJ. It adds an interesting dynamic instead of the “apple of peter Parker he can’t seem to achieve”.

Also imagine her as the damsel in distress… shit is going to be gold.

I don’t care what they do with Spider-Man now as long as it’s more of what we just got I’ll be thrilled. I mean they made Vulture awesome, they made the name make sense, they gave Keaton that fly-ass flight jacket. MOAR!1

Great to see the MCU take a B-list villain like Vulture and make him great. They adjusted the Vulture’s backstory just enough that it now makes sense and ties in how the hell a broke businessman gets some high end tech.
Flight-jacket is a nice touch, and the fur on the jacket is enough of a throw back to the Comic version

Homecoming was really good. I won’t watch it twice in the theatres but it was really good. I laughed a lot.

[spoiler=]

  • Liz would get it
  • I kinda hope we don’t hear so much of Karen in the future. It was cute, yes. But Spidey is a solo act. I don’t want that to change.
  • Karen was trying to Spidey laid. Lol
  • Lol at Flash being an Indian nerdy dude instead of big, Neanderthal white guy.
  • Awesome scene of Spidey under the rubble crying and then mustering the inner strength and courage to lift it off him. Awesome, awesome scene.
  • Zendaya was funny to me. Always around for seemingly no particular reason. [/spoiler]

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

I enjoyed it.

Lol that’s Jennifer Connolly voicing Karen.

[details=Spoiler]I legit threw my fist in the air when the did the retread of “The Final Chapter” where Spidey lifts the rubble off himself. THAT is Spider-Man right there.

So glad they didn’t kill Vulture… Tired of the villain always dying at the end.[/details]

Best Spider-Man movie ever… Now to see how Sony fucks it all up again.

I hope the movie is so successful it would be stupid for Sony to take Spidey away from Marvel.

May not matter if that Stupid Emoji movie don’t take in theaters. Sony Pictures is taking a HUGE risk with a dumb sounding IP.
They don’t make their money back then the Studio could close their doors.

I liked the movie overall. Vulture is definitely one of the better MCU villains out there. But there were some things that really bothered me.

[details=Spoiler]One of the really big hangups I had with this movie is that they really seemed to dial back Spidey’s competence a lot. The general setting reminds me a lot of Spectacular–in that it’s a really young Peter dealing with balancing high school life with superheroics–but in that cartoon, he was a lot more self-sufficient and could handle most problems with his own power and ingenuity. Homecoming shares a trait with the Ultimate cartoon in that Spidey’s a lot less capable and in need of frequent adult supervision. Karen in particular bugged the hell out of me, despite having some funny lines. Why is there a need for Spider-Man to have a backseat driver?

Peter also doesn’t seem to have Spider-Sense in this movie or something. If he does, then it’s severely nerfed, since there are a lot of times where it definitely should have activated but it didn’t.[/details]

Spoiler

He does have it, they just don’t emphasize it. It is nerfed though

[details=Spoiler]Peter did need adult supervision. From the start Peter was throwing his life away waiting for Stark to put him in the Avengers. He quit band, robotics, baited on the decathlon, skipping classes, etc. He kept fucking up. Spidey is 15 in this movie so needing to be mentored makes perfect sense.

Peter didn’t seem to have his Spider-Sense at all. He was blindsided a lot in this movie and didn’t sense any of it coming. It makes no sense since he had it in Civil War.[/details]

[details=Spoiler]He’s only 16 in Spectacular, and is still highly competent while flying solo.

Maybe Spectacular spoiled me and I’m expecting too much. I get what they were going for in Homecoming, but it feels like they went way overboard to the point where it almost feels like Peter is being treated like a baby.[/details]

I loved the movie. I think however everyone is expecting a specific kind of spidey after the past movies set the bar.

Spoiler

Peter’s Spider sense at first was not very well developed during his early days in the comics. They got better as he got experienced.

A Parker that isn’t Parker is basically your…second biggest dream.
