IIRC correctly a lot of those scenes are when Laura is alone with Logan and subtitles would mess up the scene IMO. The point is to show not only a (false) language barrier but how distant they are. Notice the closer they get the more her English she uses.
Besides from what little I could make out, her body language gave away what she is saying.
I would say Winter Soldier works much better as a stand alone film, you can take someone with only a base idea of any Marvel movie to see it and they would be able to follow most of the characters.
Civil War is underrated since for all the threads it carried from the previous Marvel films and the seeds it laid for future films, the movie was much better then it had any right to be. You still would need a strong knowledge of the both Avengers movies, Captain Americaās previous movies and one could argue the original comic book event plus recent bad Spider-man films (in order to see how worse it could have been) to get the full impact of how good the Civil War film was. Which in of itself isnāt a good thing and hopefully upcoming Marvel movies will be more stand alone although for better or worse Homecoming and Ragnarok are looking very much built in a Marvel team up film mode.
Not true. I think Marvel has done a decent job of appropriate casting. DC casting a Samoan to play Aquaman is dope too. Come to think about it, recent superhero movies and shows have overall - up until now - have done great. The closest thing before this was Marvel Studios taking chunks of Miles Moralesā life and giving it to Peter Parker.
Marvel did that because their biggest growing Market China.
Dr Strange would never be successful in China if they keep the Ancient one Tibetan.
Mostly being Chinaās occupation of Tibet and how the Chinese government looks down on Tibetan mysticism.
Casting the ancient one as a Celtic woman plays down the Tibetan connection, and allows the movie to be seen in China where Marvel made mad bank.
