I love being a comedy nerd, I’ve been paying attention to Glover since Derrick Comedy was a thing. Also been following Steven Colbert’s career since he was in Exit 57. Seeing people whose comedy you enjoy succeed feels so good.
Yeah, him and music had a long journey. I heard one of his earlier tracks where he was doing lame stuff with his voice and wrote him off until Culdesac in 2010. From what I understand, he was making music for years before then. Even after Culdesac, stuff was hit/miss. I’ve played Redbone at least 200 times though.
Aside from that, his standup comedy special, Weirdo, was pretty decent. I wish he had honed his stand-up more, but when you’re making TV moves I guess it’s hard.
I wouldn’t have guessed he’s doing Deadpool though. I hope he’s a fan of the series and they didn’t just shoehorn him into that shit.
before culdesac he was doin weird voices cause he was basically skirting the nerdcore scene. he may be the first nerdcore rapper to break out into legit status. He also was jocking drake/weezy fuckin harddddddddd with the one rhyme style, no switchup. culdesac is exactly where everything changed for him, alot more personal, still had some drake flowing but you saw the beginnings of what he was really gonna become. ( basically assume he sold his soul right around here)
He is also playing a character in Spider-Man Homecoming and while not directly Marvel, is the young Lando in the upcoming Young Han Solo Star Wars film that is supposed to drop next year.
