RDJ pick was a surprise for sure, but I recall that when me and my friends found out, our immediate reaction (knowing his history with drug abuse) was “he’s perfect.”
EDIT: Kinda weird to think that Marvel originally wanted Tom Cruise to play Iron Man, and that Jon Favreau had to fight for RJD. So much of the MCU wouldn’t be what it is today without RDJ starting from him improvising “I am Iron Man.”

and it would also play into his supposed run in military special ops. . . .
Fun Fact - The “I am Iron Man” line in Endgame was supposedly the last reshoot. The editor said that the scene felt empty as Stark just did the snap without saying anything. So he called back to that line and they got RDJ to do it.

Gamora and Peter were never a thing. They were always friends. Kinda had a brother-sister relationship. So seeing them in the movies was meh. But now they have gone and brought that shit to the comics. Fucking movies.

Trauma related relationship. Broken people who are bad for each other are together. I’ve seen so many relationships like them. They both feed a need they are missing. Be it family or the fact neither race seems to exist in space in general. Can also say they are both despised… In comics marvel cosmic universe hates humans cause bad shit always happens around them for gamora its the fact she’s Thanos’s kid

That is my main issue with the MCU. Regardless of quality it’s going to be universally praised because it’s marvel.
