Oh hey i finally watched avengers and yeah you’re right the sjw scene was awful. i avoided this thread, but i knew immediately the scene once it happened. completely forced, awkward, and crappy girl power scene. doesn’t help that captain marvel has the charisma of a turd both on screen and off screen. i didnt watch captain marvel but definitely won’t. and did they give her a lesbo haircut to gain +sjw points???

the thing is, the avengers already had multiple great girl power sequences that weren’t forced, and were natural and organic. example. black widow running the avengers like a boss 5 years after they take out thanos, meanwhile thor is an alcoholic wreck that has fallen apart. then black widow later fighting to bravely sacrifice herself so that her team can win. the strength of thor’s mother who talks sense into her drunkard son and then says she does not need to know the future. gamora helping nebula at the end and then teaming up to kick ass. gamora kneeing starlord for touching her without permission. all good stuff. but then ewwwww ms marvel comes in and they ruin it all with a forced sjw scene to satisfy what was obviously a checkbox. it was completely different quality of writing between that scene and the prior great girl power scenes.

i hated every scene captain marvel was in.

Lol Capn Marvel wasnt too bad. Neither is Brie Larson as danvers but I agree perhaps someone else would have been better. Who? I dont know. I think Brie did a great job but doesnt mean she was the perfect choice like how Chris E was for Capn A

Looks like the “actor can’t play two roles in the MCU” rule is gone.

I wouldn’t put much stock into what fish says. Like. At all. He’s purposely antagonistic and trolls like 99% of the time.

Emily Blunt was their first choice but she turned them down.

I think Chris Evans became the role moreso in follow up movies. I wasn’t really on board with him in The First Avenger. It was cemented in TWS and couldn’t see anyone else playing the part after Civil War.

We could have had the Full Metal Bitch!?!?!?! I wonder if she regrets that choice.

I’d still take Larson over Blunt. :man_shrugging:t4:

With how people have been treating Larson over the role…i highly doubt it. Bet she feels she dodged a bullet.

Keep the Marvel going on ABC…

I am fine with either choice, but could easily see Blunt in that role. Larson hasn’t had time to become Captain Marvel yet.

Blunt is too old imo.

I can somewhat see that. She’s got 7 years on Larson.

She didn’t want to be locked in a multi-picture deal.

That makes sense, she just had a child.

There’s a surprising amount of actors who have turned down marvel roles for this very reason. Too time consuming and demanding.

Best reason to do it.

Generally they already have a shit load of cash. Emily Blunt and her husband are both more then well off for example. At that level you don’t work for money anymore. You work for work that interests you.

Yea those two are loaded to the gills for sure.
I’m sure John is still getting Office money haha

The issue with CM is not Larson but CM itself. Is kinda bland as character. I don’t like Brie Larskn that much but can’t hate on her acting tbh
