Superior Spider-Man was quite the emotional roller coaster this week. Loving this Peter Parktopus storyline.
Savage Wolverine was pretty dope too. Interesting twists on classic Marvel characters.
Regarding Age of Ultron in the main book and in Wolverine in the X-Men… You know I think Hickman is the only one left at Marvel who gets how time travel works in the Marvel Universe. It really blows when you involve Wolverine and Sue, two characters who have to know by now that Marvel doesn’t use ‘Back To The Future’ logic. Sigh, just bring on Marvelman / Angela already… -_-
lol the climax of wolverine and mind controlled sabertooth fight chewbaca head on a cyborg body , i was waiting for him to bring in the star trek family in about 5 mins in.
Savage Wolverine has been interesting. Amadeus Cho and Wolverine? Cool! Frank Cho draws some mighty jungle women.
Thanos Rising was cool; it bores me when the usual backstory is the protagonist as a kid being picked on by other kids, but this time this didn’t happen, so I was surprised.
Uncanny x-men 5 was cool, definitely like the new artist, and I like seeing Magik and the hell lords. Preview here
X-men Legacy has been pretty cool so far, messing with the mutant haters, Abigail Brand and S.W.O.R.D. I felt a little disappointed Legion lost his powers again, but it seems he is on his way to regaining them, so that’s good. I’ve been thinking how cool it would be if Legion paired up with Exodus. Cyclops found a friend in Magneto, so why not?
Legacy #10 preview
• Fated to destroy mutantkind, Legion is desperate to learn if the predictions are true, so he makes a deal with the devil in his own mind to find answers.
• But what terrifying truth would drive David to take extreme measures…and undergo a procedure that would remove his mutant powers?
Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man issue #22, Superior Spider-Man issue #1, Venom issue #33, a hardback copy of Venom: The Savage Six, and The Amazing Spider-Man. I think I’m all spidered out
If it wasn’t for the upcoming 2099 crossover I’d probably be done with Superior Spider-Man. With Peter’s ghost gone I really don’t want to read this much Peter Parktopus.
I just hope this doesn’t drag out long but I get the feeling things will stay the same for a while. At least until Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes out.
The FCBD Infinity issue was dope though. Hickman can do no wrong IMHO.
I like Hickman, but that Infinity FCBD issue was kind of a weak offering, even for free. It was too short and basically just served as a teaser/promo for fans who were already excited about the next major Marvel event. I have no excitement about the upcoming event so the comic didn’t have any drama for me. Cheung’s art was pretty, though. The classic Thanos story reprinted in that comic was so boring I couldn’t even finish it. Putting forth a weak reprint of horribly dated material in a FCBD issue designed to strike at a legion of casual consumers who typically never visit the comics shop is not the way to build up new fans.
Marvel Studios may have gotten the movie rights for Elektra when they got Daredevil. If you are keeping tabs, they got Punisher and Ghost Rider back too.
Loved Avengers this week. AIM agents know how to party lol!
I gotta say I’m loving a lot of the Marvel NOW books.
While some are delivering what I expected (ANXM, UXM, Superior) others are much better than I anticipated them being - mainly Gambit and Avengers Arena. Both started somewhat slow, but have picked up in big ways - especially AA. I like a lot the new characters from the Braddock Academy and love the way they’ve kept X-23 on her path of avoiding killing even w/ the predicament she’s been put in.
