Feeling like trying out some Shawarma now? Lord knows I’m torn between it and the cheeseburger pizza from Pizza Hut for dinner tonight @3@
What’s the sudden obsession with shawarma?
Any of you guys follow the Jean Grey School on Twitter? Kitty Pryde is talking about the Avengers movie but in her world it looks like it’s a movie about the old British TV show. She’s all like 'ScarJo’s Emma Peel outfit looks great!"

Read AVvX, friend of mine had a copy and man that’s the JRJR I know and love. Art was so much better this issue.
EDIT: And Avengers Acadamey continues to have blah artwork, liked the homage to Wolverine vs the Hellfire Club during the original Phoenix story at the end.
Kick ass review of Avengers by Peter David.

Haha I see what you mean now. Too bad I won’t be home for a while so that shawarma will have to wait
I feel it was forced, or atleast the sneakiest clusterfuck I’ve ever seen. Battle Scars was great up until I realized it was just a shoe in for the movie.
I’m gonna take a guess and say you mean Steve Rogers. Bucky as Cap was fucking great! (and I have yet to see any of you guys talk about the Winter Soldier books.)
I could see where that is coming from, but it’s far less forced than say, the Serpent breaking Cap’s shield after he threw it at him. I could kinda see the sense of it, even though it was indeed forced so some level.
Can someone tell me in Spoiler tags what the second extra scene in Avengers is?
Damn you Americans and your second extra scene!
Completely agreed on Bucky being Capitan America was fantastic and honestly, I personally felt that Steve Rodgers should have stayed dead and that the Fear Itself death of Bucky was a huge shot in the foot. Sadly the reason I don’t talk about the Winter Solider book is because I haven’t picked it up.
Daredevil was my fav. book this week, looking forward to this arc actually ending, and to more adventures~
The 2 scenes are
[details=Spoiler]One shows Thanos at the end
The other shows the team chilling out and having some Shawarma[/details]
You haven’t read them yet?! Shame on you sir! If you liked him as Cap, the Winter Soldier books are great for you. I won’t go as far as to say Steve should’ve stayed dead, let him run Shield, have his new little costume and his Secret Avengers and keep him the fuck away from everything! Pissed me off when Bucky “died” in Fear Itself, why not just get rid of Rulk, plenty of fuckin Hulks runnin around.
in little kid voice I don’t wanna! The first two were so terrible!
EDIT: So I read it…Captain America is a bitch.
Okay so semi off the general topic discussion of the newer releases/Avengers movie, who here enjoys alt universe storylines as much as I do? Age of X? Earth, Universe, Paradise X? House of M? Age of Apocalypse? 2099 (more future than alt)?
There’s just something about alternative Marvel universe’s that interest me so much. I guess it’s because I get to see my favorite characters envisioned in new ways with different lives/powers/costumes/ect. I know DC thrives off of it’s multi-verses and 15 different versions of the same character but Marvel usually sticks with Earth-616 so when they actually go to a different version of earth, it’s exciting.
L
It’s case by case.
Not a fan of House of M as most people who frequent here probably know by now.
I loved Age of X. Pretty cool how Spider-Man was still married to MJ and she was pregnant with their daughter too in Age of X Universe #1. That was a nice surprise.
Age of Apocalypse, well I liked it way back when it was being released and not so much what they’ve done with the world since they decided to bring it back.
2099 was great. Well, way back when. 2099 Timestorm sucked donkey balls. Seriously, this world should never be touched without Peter David or Joe Cavalieri.
The Earth / Universe / Paradise X stuff, there were things I liked and things I didn’t. Still a solid read and a strong series even if I disagree with the direction taken with some of the characters. I didn’t like Wolverine being an alien but I liked the idea of Nightcrawler being Belasco, things like that.
I liked Old Man Logan too.
I guess my ideal vision of Marvel’s future is something like MC2 and 2099 much later on. There’s an old ASM issue, #439 that takes place in the far future and references both of them. So I sort of stick to some variant of both of them happening. Just me personally though.
Oh I really liked Hickman’s recent take on Marvel’s future in Fantastic Four, particularly where Thing was concerned.
I personally feel that Thing deserved more than to live so long and watch all his loved ones die…but one would need to explore said universe from Thing’s prespective to get a better appreciation for it IMO.
I personally like Exiles, and while it isn’t about a specific alt. world per se, the stories and characters were pretty entertaining IMO.
Hahaha… Exiles… Wow. That was a series with a Bizarro All-Star lineup: Judd Winick, Chuck Austen, and Chris Claremont. Has there ever been such a long-running series with such a consistent stable of terrible writers back-to-back-to-back?
Stan Lee will be a playable character in the new Spider-Man video game that’s based on the upcoming movie.

Winnick was actually pretty good on Exiles and Austen was decent. Claremont was fuckign balls horrible.
Spider-Man 2099 was really good, as was Doom. The rest of 2099 was okay, but nothing special.
Like Sano, I enjoyed the original AoA, but everything since then has been poor.
Earth X is probably my favourite series Marvel has ever done, but Universe and Paradise were not as good.
I liked House of M, but not what happened afterwards. Ruined so many characters.
Only Marvel book I got around to reading so far was Avenging Spider-Man. Very cute Spider-Man and She-Hulk story. I never found She-Hulk to be THAT serious, but again it was a really cute story. :lovin:
