Why is Antman using a variation of the classic Antman outfit? The GIAntman suit he wore since his introduction seems more advanced IMO…and more cool looking.

Artist preference I guess, personally I always found the classic Ant-Man suit to be my favorite but it doesn’t really give him his own identity. His personality though does that, plenty of lol moments or fuck-up’s, surprised Steve is so patient with him.

I don’t think artist preference has anything to do with it, but more with Heroic Age having some characters revert to classic outfits.

Yeah I think this may be true. I can’t find any reference in the story explaining the change at all. I personally preferred the more modern look.

The why ask Tizoc? Lol.

I guess that could be it, but I prefer this outfit overall. Now if Hank can just go back to Yellowjacket we are all good in the Pym Particle department.

So yeah, is anyone with me in thinking that the final member of Secret Avengers will be a rotating spot? First Nova, now Shang-Chi. I’d like Shang-Chi to stay on, but this is how I am seeing it currently.

Makes sense. It would be a good dynamic to advance the story, rotating in a new character every few months. Needs more Deadpool imo though.

Heh I sometimes word my posts wrong ^_^; I did want to talk about how Antman’s outfit is his classic one but my bad english struck.

Interesting, I hadn’t noticed that Nova was replaced, that sounds like a nice concept for the book ;3

I thought so, just pick a cool or underused character that could help in the story and just put him/her on the team briefly. Although I don’t think Deadpool could do the whole you know, Secret thing.

I noticed after Nova Force Steve kicked the crap out of possessed Nova, and Nova was like “Hey guys it was fun and all, but Thanos is fucking shit up and they need me, kthxbye.”

Then we get Shang-Chi more or less getting involved and his style perfectly fits what they need right now. It’s pretty cool I think, I’d like it to continue (But I really would enjoy Shang-Chi staying on).

I remember that part in the Spider-man and Kick-Ass movies where the guys were trying to develop their costumes. I was wondering how much do you think it cost them to make their costumes, especially Spider-man’s whose seems complex.

Well I meant it jokingly. In the past few issues of Deadpool he got tied up with Steve and the Secret Avengers. There was a really awesome fight between Wade and Steve as well. Probably one of the better story arcs in Way’s run aside from the Bullseye stuff.

Also, he’s in Uncanny X-Force, which is supposed to be “secret”. But we’ll see how long that lasts.

I personally thought Nova Force Steve was one of the most badass things I’ve seen in a while.

Since he made it on his Aunt May’s sewing machine it probably costed him next to nothing. He only needs foul colors, red, black white and blue besides which Aunt May probably already had in the crib but even if he had to get an extra color it wouldn’t be much. His outfit is just regular cloth.

The two part ‘Gamma World’ episodes on Avengers Assemble last night were cool. It was nice to see Viper animated, if only briefly. It’s like they did ‘Hulked Out Heroes’ for a spell.

I was wondering such because I am writing my own super hero story and I wanted to take into account the actual process of making, getting, and designing a costume. I looked up some stuff on the web to see how much it would cost to make an outfit for myself if I was going to be one.

A baseball cap, du rag, sneakers, hoody, sweatpants, and a pair of shades came to a total of $63 for me. I’m trying to write for a female character though that has pyrokinesis. I tried to look up fireproof gloves and clothing, but I’m doubting if they are really fireproof and would do her any good, because she can’t wear normal clothing or it’ll just burn off.

Clothes are one thing. Cloth and thread really isn’t too pricey. Back in the '60s it was probably a lot cheaper. Well clothes used to be a lot cheaper. People on average made less money though.

Well I guess with Marvel’s sliding timescale, since Brevoort says he’s 27 now and he got his powers when he was 15 that would currently be 1998 when he got his powers and made his costume. Still in NY, from '98 and up there are several places where you can find thread for cheap, especially if you buy it in bulk but let’s assume Aunt May wasn’t working in a sweat shop. :wonder:

Steve Wacker says he’s 25 and Brevoort’s crazy BTW.

When BND first started they said it costs Spider-Man 1,000 dollars to make a batch of web fluid. There’s no way in hell that would work back when he was in High School, so I guess there’s inflation involved even with the chemicals he uses for webbing.

Truth, I was staring at the sneak preview in the back of the previous issue and was like “Come on, this is just one of those comic covers where they tease you and nothing comes of it.”

Then Steve fucking does it, and kicks the shit out of Serpent Nova. I was like OH DAMN! XD

And I knew you were partially joking, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have DP pop up in an arc for hilarity purposes. I’m sure Steve has an MIB style mind wipe somewhere.

Only thing I picked up today was Generation Hope. I like the all around story, but I am was hoping for more to happen in this issue. Looking forward to more. The cover of the next issue looks promising! Also, can anyone clue me in on the cryptic Marvel ad.

It is all black, except for a quote by Jawaharlal Nehru: “There is perhaps nothing so bad and so dangerous in life as fear.”

That ad is probably for Black Panther taking over the Man Without Fear line.

Heroes for Hire it was good but it’s just setting things up. Invincible Iron Man confused the hell out of me because I no longer understand what’s going on with Pepper.

Lol that would be an amazing reference to see Steve pull a mind whipe. I like the direction he’s going with the Secret Avengers a lot. Especially when he was talking to the prisoner in the latest issue, and he’s like No I won’t torture you, but I’m not Captain America anymore, and these girls have no problem with torture… He’s really becoming more and more like Fury.

Is there a thread for the X-Men or more specifically Rogue?

Here’s the X-Men thread. Sano passionately hates Rogue so I’d advise you to think twice about starting a thread specifically about her, as he might be inclined to bear down the wrath of his ban hammer and lay waste to all reality as we know it.

Thank you and that sux big time! I need to re-educate him then.
