I haven’t seen the movie, but by the narration in the book, it’s something he created on a whim.

Despite his distance from his human self, it’s a meticulous clockwork-like construction (really, that description goes for the palace, the chapter, and the whole book) that reveals that he still has his old sensibilities as a watchmaker. I think it appears at first as an indicator that he’s simply interested in the mechanistic workings of the universe, but it becomes an indicator that he still appreciates something of his own lost individuality and that he might yet appreciate that quality in others. And he eventually does.

Yeah I knew it had something to do with the whole fact his dad was a clockmaker, and his whole childhood he spent learning how shit goes together. When he Became Doc, he literally saw how everything was put together.

thats right. Fucking NASA puts a video of it’s own landing of its own vehicle on its own youtube channel, and was taken down in minutes by a private news service claiming copyright infringement. To derail again, hopefully this is the fucking wakeup call that copyright laws got way out of hand.

Or that YouTube’s habit of zero tolerance ass-coverage is letting private media corporations get away with nonsense that even the ludicrous copyright laws wouldn’t permit.

Dude, I’m Canadian, and I truly feel that NASA is one of the greatest things Mankind, let alone America, has ever organized to accomplish great things. This feels like a slap in the face to humanity. I understand it’s an automated process, and bla bla bla. But I really don’t need to even type out a long winded drunkenly enhanced paragraph to explain how shameful it is when a corporation or entity can literally claim copyright infringement and derail the viewing of a momental event in human history.

Imagine if halfway through the lunar landing back 69 (hehehe), NBC came on and turned it off because they didn’t want ABC to show it. Or some random fucking dude somewhere even, because that’s what essentially happened. Copyright laws are pretty much the NUMBER ONE thing I would like to see fucking dealt with after you guys have your election and figure out who gets to kiss corporate ass next.
