Finally got around to watching Marn’s run. Truly an inspiration to us all.
Where would you put Mika.?
Alot of my friends wanna say shes high mid.

I think low-mid. She’s got tools, but Mika players are getting away with murder at the moment. Once people are punishing properly, she’s going to have to really work (and guess) to keep her pressure going. You can kind of see it already when a decent Mika (tournament level) gets worried about counters on wake-up - they clam up and that lets the opponent breathe and possibly escape. This is definitely the case with the DP (or similar) characters - against Ryu, the match can easily turn into high-stakes coin flipping (which I think is a bit of fun and excitement, but there’s an army of folk who hate it). A lot of the current cast which aren’t DP characters have been compensated well enough to make it difficult for her - and I think that’s fair. There was a comment on Daigo’s stream the other day about making sure that grapplers don’t get too many tools or they just wreck shop too easily and I think Mika is a really interesting reflection of that idea.
I will say this though, in Mika’s favour, the people playing Mika seriously seem to really love the character and style and I think that goes a long way to making her more dangerous that her on-paper tools might suggest. I actually can’t figure out why anyone is playing any one other than Mika - she’s just SO EARNEST.
I need to learn R.Mika But I have no idea where to start. This is the first grappler player I have ever played ever in like any fighting game. x.x
Plus my fighting game experience was meh at best since i hated how hard the execution was in sf4 with the stupid 1 frame bs…I guess its about time I find a buddy to play sf5 with and start taking fighting games seriously, because i am not content to just watching them now.
