Depends on the move. Some only allow cancelling before active frames, some 2-hit moves only allow between the first and second hits (Vega’s close standing HP 1st hit -> Rolling Crystal Flash), some only on block (Ryu c.RH -> fireball). There’s not really any hard and fast rule, just experimentation.
Yo, Mark, if you want, you’re always welcome to come over any play at my place, too. I was pondering having something on Friday, but if you want that, it’s cool, too. I’m not sure how big your place is, but I can generally get quite a few people in my apartment pretty dang easy if there’s a lot of people interested. Plus. the bus routes around me aren’t too shabby either. You can hit me up on Facebook or anything like that, too. I’ve never been to your place, I should figure out where that is, too.

Question for the Marvel players. I just saw a situation while watching a stream and it made me wonder.
Left Team:
Phoenix active, 5% health, 5 bars
(any character), 45% health
Right Team:
(any character active), 30% health, any bars
(any character), 50% health, any bars
Match is winding down… 5 seconds on the clock and you are using the Right Team. Do you have to just stay away from Phoenix and not even attempt to attack her at all for the rest of the match? Basically, if you attack and kill Phoenix, she turns into Dark Phoenix with a full health bar… and time runs out. Did you just lose because you hit her and she refilled her health bar?
Yeah. If they killed pheonix she would go to 100% hp and then it would be 145% vs 80% total hp remaining.
Yeah, Dan’s right. Although, to be fair, as a Phoenix player, once the clock gets down that low and they’re running you should give up on the D. Ph strat and pop xfactor and hope for the best.

Did I go from a hated tier whore to someone who plays a skillful low tier character?! Good thing I’m picking up Yun, wouldn’t want there to be false perceptions about me.
Is there a more retarded match than Sim vs Makoto? Sim gets his brains scrambled in like one combo, and Makoto’s close normals are so silly that Sim puts himself in mortal danger every time he presses anything from closer than half screen.
Makoto is the new Rufus when it comes to beating Dhalsim!
I might actually have to learn that matchup now. Before I treated her like I treated Deejay, Hakan and other low tier characters: Just press buttons and apply my own gameplan, because they have no options against it. I’d actually have to learn those matchups now. Of course, I can just use Yun and apply my gameplan vs all but 6-7 of the cast and only have to learn those matchups…
