Quite a late reply to godofgamblers but yes cammys instant dive kick was nonsense. Free pressure for no reason locking people down forcing them to take massive risks to get around it is nonsense. It builds meter, has a ton of blockstun and is a mindless mixup. You now have to think like most chars in the game.
You know what isn’t a massive risk? Blocking.
Cammy has no overhead. Late tech the throws and look for ways out. Cammy’s dive kicks are fine.
@ Diclawsus
well then…by your logic being 3/4 of the screen from dhal …blocking is perfeclty ok.
Blocking against Dhalsim is probably a good idea
Also… MvC looking preeetty good right about now, huh Jay?

Nasty!
Marvel always looks good.
Honestly, we’re a small community, two or three of us playing Yun wont be that boring. I mean, there’s three of us playing around with Dudley at the store right now, and I haven’t noticed anyone going into a sleep coma, or complaining that they have to keep fighting Dudley.
Flushes, your OS sounds sick, hope you can come up to one of our Tourneys sometime and show it off.
No, not at all, lol. SSF4 at its worst still makes Marvel look like a game for chumps that want to look like champs without the work.
Kyle, Dudley isn’t top tier. Also, I wasn’t talking about within our little community, because honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a group of people with a more diverse choice of characters than us here in Halifax. I mean, hardly any shotos at all? That’s just plain against the norm. The problem with Yun is that he pretty much breaks the balance of the game completely. Everyone’s been balanced nicely against each other at this point, and there are still some bad matchups like a 7-3 here and there, which is good. Then you throw in a character who has just about no weakness whatsoever into that mix, give him a million nearly completely safe options… I just don’t understand why they bothered throwing him in there if it was just to pretty much completely undo all their work up to this point. I don’t want to see this game go the way of SF3 where everyone just picks 2 or 3 characters and everyone else ends up being unviable.
Kyle, here’s the OS that Flushes is talking about. Pretty sick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUxBBH6YNHY
Flushes, I have no idea about the OSes, honestly. Almost no knowledge about Vega gets passed on from the pros because they are generally keeping everything to themselves for whatever reason. The Vega forums are a shambles and are nearly completely useless, so yeah…
What’s up, guys?
I’ve been pretty busy this year, and haven’t been playing the game much at all. I should have more free time this summer, though, and I want to start playing the game more seriously (esp. when AE comes out).
Are you guys still doing the regular Monday night thing? I’m not sure how many I’d be able to make it out to, but I’ll try to get out there. Also, does anyone live in the core downtown Halifax area? I just moved back into the city, and I’d like to get some offline practice in.
I’m so very bored of SF4 right now. It might be character choice. Surprisingly I’m actually tempted to turn to Ryu, but with the upcoming nerfs I’m not sure that’s a wise choice. I’ve also been toying around with the idea of Zangief, Guy, Cody and Oni. I don’t really want to play Gief, because I don’t feel like playing another character that requires such a high degree of patience would motivate me to play more, but he’d certainly help me deal with the twins.
Also; I keep telling myself I’m going to learn Cody OS’s some day. I have a ton of safe jump setups, so it should be easy enough to just… do them. Ah well.
Reflex: Yeah man, we’re still doing the Monday night stuff.
Reading what Ryan Hart said about Yun makes me sad. Basically, when Daigo and the other top Japanese Yun player would mirror match, whoever got the first couple of hits in would win almost everytime.
Besides the twins, I like what they have done with AE as far as balancing the rest of the cast out (besides maybe Fei Long). Usually, if characters are broken, you start hearing about them being banned from tournament play. I haven’t heard anything like that yet for the twins.
Characters don’t really get banned unless they’re actually broken–if they have one, or more, moves that the rest of the cast simply can’t respond to (such as ST Akuma, or Gill).
Being the best character(s) in the game by a significant margin never seems to warrant a ban. If 3S Chun and Yun weren’t banned, there is no shot of any of the AE characters being banned. Unfortunately, it seems that this could lead to the game looking like 3S, and having a bunch of Yuns and Feis flying across the screen.
I definitely don’t want them banned, I’d just like to see them toned down a bit, give a few things a little more recovery, make the scaling a bit more severe on his super, that sort of thing. Less than even Sagat got toned down from Vanilla to Super. I’m not uncomfortable with them being upper to top tier, I just don’t want the gap between them and the rest of the cast to be super huge or else we’ll see a repeat of SF3 all over again.
OH CRAP MOAR DUDLEYS this is a tragic turn of events
I have no idea what I want to do when AE comes out. I wish I had time to think.
Someone fix my shoulder. Eff.
Reflex, there’s a couple of us in downtown Hali (the peninsula, I assume you mean), myself and Mac/Bloodninja and Zach/Ozone. Mac is the only one who is really good, hahaha, but me & Zach do alright. If you’re interested I might be having a night on Thursday, drop me a line and I can tell you where and when (near Quinpool and probably late)
I’d be at every little fight night in the area if I could be… being a family man sucks sometimes.
One more machine gun blow AND I’M ABOUT TO BREAK.
Jay, first to 5 against your Vega next week. I need to practice my AA. (or online at your leisure - no internet til Friday though)

2 episodes are up so far. Apologies to those who I have already harassed via the usual Facebook pages
Feedback, comments, suggestions…all are welcome! Especially Hakan tips for Adrian
That would be wicked. I think I’m working until nine, but I could definitely head over after. I live in the Quinpool area as well, so it would be pretty convenient. I don’t even have my 360 right now, so any chance I get to play would be great.
Let me know whether I would need to bring my stick, cause I’ll have to go to Bedford to pick it up.
