well good news, i have a friend that loves mvc2. and i told him there was a station set up. he seemed pretty stoaked about this.
Generally, there isn’t anything but SSF4 on Street Fighter Monday. Last night was between seasons and was VERY casual. There is however, an actual MVC2 arcade machine running an actual NAOMI arcade board that is available during business hours of 11-7 Monday-Sunday at LGS.
There will be an MVC3 scene starting up with Lythium at the helm

I don’t think anyones gonna beat arcade mode 5 times for taskmaster to be unlocked in time imo

or rockin’ online?
Versus. Online is plagued with lag and effects combos and training mode doesn’t teach you footsies and develops bad habits. Challenge mode is fun sometimes to mess around but most trials are useless and aren’t practical. And what the hell is this “arcade mode” you speak of?

Taskmaster/Deadpool/Tron?
Taskmaster Mobility and Projectiles will be your issues. Not to mention Tron or Deadpool don’t really benefit from having anybody else on the team. Again team chemistry > who you want to play.
It’s a lot of things.

Start by learning key combos.

Learn when these combos should be used (e.g.: If it is tough, make sure you have meter to fadc out of it.)

Grind out execution, so that you can know how to perform these combos.

Start bringing combos into matches. This won’t go as well as you want or think, because you have to incorporate many other factors, such as thinking of what to do yourself, thinking of how to react to the opponent and the character he is using, etc.:, But be patient, and it will work in.

NORMALS AND SPACING. Even if you know some sweet combos, someone who is going to keep you at a distance and poke you to death will almost always have an advantage. Know both your and your opponent’s weak and strong spacings, and your normals well.

Keep a cool head. Lord knows how many matches I’ve lost because I get impatient.

Try some online, but don’t base your progress on that. Most of your progress will come from playing people in person.

Make sure to adapt your game. You’ll notice when playing the same group of people, you’ll get predictable, real fast. Even though you may have an advantage on someone at first, this certainly won’t last.
There are at least a few suggestions that I could offer.
Know your normals, know them, be them, sleep with them, eat with them. You need to know how long they take, how far they go, and what use they have.
Know what normals cancel into what so when you’re sitting there playing footsies with another player, you can cancel your normal into the special for some nice damage.
After you have your spacing down and footsies, learn them combo’s. While learning those combo’s you should be training your execution as well, especially if you’re playing execution heavy characters like Viper and Duds.
as dirty as this sounds, i have been grinding my face off all last night and looks like 80% of today is going to be dedicated to it as well.
